Extreme Prejudice
Interesting movie written by John Milius, and directed by Walter Hill. The final shootout is somewhat reminiscent of Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch". The producers hired Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson as a consultant. There are many interesting guns in the movie. To name a few:
Colt Commander
This was the main service sidearm of Joaquin Jackson. Nick Nolte bought a .45 Colt Commander, just like the one owned by Jackson, including the custom grips, and also an identical holster to carry the gun, to use it in the movie. However, in his autobiography "One Ranger", Jackson remembers that the .45 Commander was not reliable with blanks. Therefore, a 9 mm Colt Commander was used, instead, in the movie.
Winchester 1894
This was one of the rifles owned by Jackson, and it was also used by Nolte in the movie.
Smith & Wesson 629
Powers Boothe uses a 3"-barreled, Mag-na-Ported 629 model.
Smith & Wesson Model 686
Used by Michael Ironside
MAC-10
Used by Clancy Brown in several scenes
Steyr AUG
Used by Larry B. Scott in the final Shootout
Joaquin Jackson also mentions in "One Ranger" that the shotgun used by Rip Torn in the movie belonged to the actor.
