Guardian Angel (original title: Schutzengel) is a 2012 German action movie about ex-special forces operative Max (Til Schweiger) who now works for the witness-protection program of the Berlin police.
He is assigned to protect a girl, Nina (Luna Schweiger, his real-life daughter) who is a vital witness in the case against corrupt arms dealer Thomas Backer (Heiner Lauterbach).
Max finds himself on the run with Nina from hitmen being send to silence Nina and he knows he can count on only a few people, among which a buddy from the special forces, as he takes up the desperate fight.
The following weapons were used in the film Guardian Angel (Schutzengel):
Max (Til Schweiger) uses a subcompact Glock as one of his two side arms throughout the movie. The exact model cannot be identified, but it’s most probably a Glock 26 in the popular 9mm calibre. He does not carry it in a holster, but rather on the inside of his belt with a metal clip fixed on the right side of the slide.
Heckler & Koch P30
The other side arm of choice for Max is the Heckler & Koch P30. Unlike the above Glock 26 that he keeps on his belt, the Heckler & Koch P30 is kept in a backpack with some magazines.

SIG-Sauer P6
All police officers are armed with the SIG-Sauer P6. It can be distinguished from the regular SIG-Sauer P225 by the flat disassembly lever.
Vektor SP1
During the opening shootout, several hitmen are armed with the Vektor SP1. This South African pistol is a somewhat unlikely choice for a movie shot in Germany but it’s possibly a sign of the mysterious background of the hitmen.
Caracal F
In what seems to be the first movie appearance of this pistol, the Caracal F shows up in the weapons collection that Max’s ex-special forces buddy Rudi (Moritz Bleibtrue) keeps at his farmhouse.
Walther P99AS
A group of hitmen is send to search for Max and Nina at Rudi’s farmhouse. Their leader (Aleksandar Jovanovic) produces a Walther P99AS when he interrogates Rudi.
Heckler & Koch USP
Corrupt arms dealer Thomas Backer (Heiner Lauterbach) pulls a Heckler & Koch USP in his hotel room. It can be distinguished from the German Army version P8 by the direction of the safety lever, a part of which is visible in the second image.
Glock 17
During the opening shootout, one of the hitmen carries a Glock 17, most likely a 2nd generation model due to the apparent lack of an accessory rail.
Unidentified airsoft Glock 17
When Max and Nina take refuge at the farmhouse of Max’s ex-special forces buddy Rudi, Rudi wants to make Nina a bit more gun-savvy. They practice drawing and shooting drills in a barn with what Rudi describes as an ‘airsoft gun’ of unidentified making based on the Glock 17.
Unidentified Pistols
During the farmhouse shootout, one hitman (Mickey Hardt) pulls out a pistol that is quite difficult to identify. It appears to be a two-toned double action pistol with a somewhat rounded slide but it mysteriously turns into a different pistol a few seconds later.
The ‘new’ pistol, which is also difficult to identify, is two-toned as well but now the tones have switched. Also the slide seems to have changed in shape to more edgy.
Assault Rifles
Luvo LA-16
Max uses a Luvo LA-16 from his friend’s Rudi’s weapons cache. The weapon can be identified by the typical ring enclosing the back of the hand guard. It is the 10.5” barrel version with the front sight mounted the wrong way and the carrying handle removed to make way for an EOTech holosight.
AK-47
During the attack on the farmhouse, several assailants are using a modernized version of the AK-47 equipped with an M4 collapsible stock, AKM-style flash hider and what appears to be a synthetic Command Arms quad rail handguard.
AKM
In several scenes, AKM’s are seen used. Here again, they are modernized versions with M4 collapsible stock and what appears to be a synthetic Command Arms quad rail handguard.
Arsenal AR-1F
One of the attackers on the farmhouse is carrying what seems to be an Arsenal AR-1F, identifiable by the long flash hider. It also seems to have a 40-round magazine.
Zastava M70AB2
Another attacker is armed with a Zastava M70AB2 recognizable by the standard grenade launcher sights. The gun also has a modern synthetic hand guard rather than the traditional wooden one.
Norinco Type 56-1
Even though it is seldomly used in a European movie, one of the hitmen appears to be using a Norinco Type 56-1 as identified by the full-circle front sight.
Other Guns
Brügger & Thomet MP9
Several hitmen carry the Brügger & Thomet MP9, in one case equipped with a silencer. True to it’s covert carry nature, it is seen pulled from underneath a coat in one scene.
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
As a SWAT team raids Max’s house, one member can be seen carrying a Heckler & Koch MP5A2 with a ‘M4A1’ style collapsible stock and a Surefire 628 forend weaponlight
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Another SWAT team member carries a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with the integrated Surefire 628 forend weaponlight.
Heckler & Koch MP5KA1
In their search chase of Max and Nina at the hospital, several assailants carry Heckler & Koch MP5KA1’s, the covert carry variant with low profile sights.
FM MAG 58
As mercenaries descend upon the farmhouse where Max and Nina are hiding, one of them carries a FN MAG 58. The version he is carrying has a large perforated heatshield, possibly to make the gun look like the M240 variant.
Mossberg 500
At one point during the farmhouse shootout, Max pulls a Mossberg 500 from Rudi’s weapons cache and uses it to fight off attackers at close range. The shotgun has a synthetic stock and is equipped with rifle sights.
Smith & Wesson Model 642
The security chief to arms dealer Thomas Backer, Nicholas (Tim Wilde), covertly carries a Smith & Wesson Model 642 in an ankle holster.
Miscellaneous
Outdoor Gun Training
The extra’s section of the DVD shows two short gun-related movies. The first one is about the gun training that Til Schweiger took in the USA in preparation for this movie. Under the supervision of a professional shooting instructor he fired thousands of rounds, predominantly with assault rifles.
Indoor Shooting Training
The second short movie concerns a report of an indoor gun training for the crew, all using SIG-Sauer P6’s. Due to the somewhat relaxed atmosphere, they appear to be using either blank cartridges or some kind of airsoft cartridges.
