MAC-10

I just checked the the official website of this game and he is definitely holding a suppressed Steyr TMP and not a MAC-10. - SmithandWesson36

How many games have featured Ciudad Juarez, Mexico now?

Back in the days of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 which featured that city as a terrorist hotspot, supposedly the Mayor of Ciudad Juarez at the time claimed it was going to scare tourists away from that city (which is kind of funny given what's going on there now). José Reyes of Chihuahua (a state in Mexico) also called for the game's banning in Mexico.

I can't help but wonder if this game will stir up controversy again. Still, I think Mexico's past the stage now where they can try to pretend that a negative fictional portrayal of their cities or other locations in their country will actually be far worse than what's happening there now . . . --Mazryonh 02:19, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I remember that about GRAW. The governor of Chihuahua ordered the game seized by authorities if sold on Mexican soil. They really do need to be more concerned with the reality of the country rather than some game company's fiction set in it. Spartan198 22:03, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Unknown Pistol and AK

I found a bigger picture through Google, and I believe it's a Beretta M9, or some variant. It looks like the AK is either an AK-74, or an AKM. - User:1morey, February 13, 2011 9:20 AM (EST).

That AK variant has to be an AK-47; it has a milled receiver and lacks a slanted compensator. -Deafmatch 15:52, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
That's milled receiver. ;) Spartan198 22:04, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
I'll just pretend that never happened. -Deafmatch 17:51, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
We'll keep it between you, me, and anyone who reads this page. :P Spartan198 08:39, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

controversial already

Seen multiple news articles condemning this game, just makes me want it more now.

I can see why, the original Call of Juarez-es were westerns and were pretty much the only videogame FPS-es to gain any sort of acclaim. Taking it into the present kills what was it's main selling point, although I did enjoy the second one and will probably pick it up when the price goes down. BeardedHoplite

Just a thought

I don't want to sound like a jerk but there is no such thing as a "Beretta M92FS". It is "M9" or "92FS", bus since there will be no U.S. Military in this game (probably) it should be 92FS. --bozitojugg3rn4ut 21:23, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Also on the topic of Berettas, the gun listed as a Desert Eagle is definately a two-tone Beretta 92FS ShootingLiberal 02:49, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Unknown sniper rifle

The PSO-1 scope on it suggests the SVD or any Dragunov derivative. --HashiriyaR32 03:05, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

It has a hooded front sight like the Type 56, could it be a NDM-86? --85.3.178.52 02:06, 5 March 2011 (MSK)

It really looks like a Remington R700

First, sign your posts Anonymous User, second, the first "unknown sniper rifle" was indentified as a Dragunov, your talking about the second sniper rifle, but yeah I did thought It look like a R700. - User:1morey July 19, 2011 10:26 PM (EST)

The Characters

I am a fan of the series, and while the characters do look cheesy (In an awesome/good way), I have to say, they remind me of famous celebs:

Ben McCall- The bastard child of Cordell Walker and Randy Savage.

Eddie Guerra- Ali G

Kim Evans- Halle Berry

P.S. BTW, I found out the connection of this game to the series. Ben is a descendant of Billy Candle (From the first Call of Juarez), and is the spiritual successor to Reverend Ray McCall. Sorry if this was mention on the main page. Also, the antagonist is the Mendoza Cartel, which either Juarez' Gang wasn't totally destroyed in the first two games, or they are relatives of Juarez. User:1morey March 16, 2011 3:56 PM (EST)

I don't know about the Juarez gang but I remember I have killed Juarez in the first game at least twice, and also in the prequel. LOL bozitojugg3rn4ut 16:06, 16 March 2011 (CDT)
Same here! He must be immortal or something...User:SeanWolf

Your "Wishlist"

On the offcial Call of Juarez: The Cartel website, the game states there will be 30 different weapons to choose (The list states: pistols, revolvers, sub machine guns, machine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, anti-air weapons and more). So my question is, what guns would you like to see in this game. My wishlist is:

1. Smith & Wesson Schofield (As a reference to previous games) 2. Heckler & Koch G3A4 3. RPG-7 4. Browning M2 5. Any form of Glock 6. Heckler & Koch PSG-1 7. A MAC-10, or MAC-11 8. Skorpion 9. Uzi 10. Any form of SIG-Sauer 11. Remington 700 12. Benelli M4 13. Heckler & Koch MP5 14. Colt 1911 15. Cobray Street Sweeper 16. FN FAL 17. AR-15 18. Walther PPk 19. SW MP-10 20. -User:1morey April 15, 2011 10:04 PM (EST)

I'd like t see a Kimber Custom II in there.--cool-breeze 06:55, 16 April 2011 (CDT)

I'm a fan of the series and I hope this game will include some "unique" weapons. I'm really tired of seeing a Desert Eagle, an MP5 variant and a Beretta 92xx in every G**damn game that comes out. I want a G.I. Expert, some kind of a Kimber pistol or an AA-12. Anyways, as long as they won't include semi-auto-only FALs and converted G17's I think this game will be fun. bozitojugg3rn4ut 08:50, 16 April 2011 (CDT)

I'm pretty confident that a Glock 22 will be in the game (As Kim is an FBI Agent, they are issued Glock 22 pistols.) Here is a list of firearms that have a pretty good chance of being in the game: Beretta 8045, S&W 459, S&W 5904, S&W 5903, S&W 659, S&W 5906, S&W 645, S&W 4506, S&W 4566, S&W 4567, S&W 5903 TSW, S&W 5906 TSW, S&W 4569 TSW, S&W 4566 TSW, Glock 17, Glock 19, Glock 22, Glock 23, Glock 27, Glock 34, Glock 35, Kimber Custom TLE II, MP5A2, AR-15, CAR-15, M4A1, Benelli M4, Benelli M3, Mossberg 500, SIG SG552, Colt Model 933, S&W M&P Pistol, SIG Pro, or UMP40. - User:1morey April 20, 2011 5:42 PM 1. Glock 17 2. SIG-Saurer P226 3. Steyr AUG A2 4. SMAW

1. SIG-Saurer P220 2. Glock 22 3. USP-40 4. Browning Hi-Power 5. Walther P99 6. Makarov PM 7. Cobray Street Sweeper 8. UMP45 9. P90 10. Mk14 Mod 0 EBR 11. FN-FAL 12. SIG-SG 556 13. Steyr AUG 14. Carl Gustav M/45 15. Typ 69 RPG 16. Browning M2 17. C4 18. M67 Frag Grenade

Wishlists for a game not made by you is silly. ^3^ - Mr. Wolf 19:42, 20 July 2011 (CDT)

TMP

TMP with full length rail on top? Never knew that existed... - bozitojugg3rn4ut 02:25, 12 July 2011 (CDT)

Are you being sarcastic? :D Anyway, just changed it to a MP-9. - Mr. Wolf 18:15, 12 July 2011 (CDT)

Handguns

I really like the selection of pistols in this game. :) - Mr. Wolf 19:40, 20 July 2011 (CDT)

This must be one of the first games to feature a S&W semi auto. I can't think of anything else that has done. The pistols selection is brilliant, I'm still hoping that there will be a last minute reveal on a Kimber :D --cool-breeze 20:12, 20 July 2011 (CDT)

I've never seen a Jericho 941 in a game before. - Mr. Wolf 20:43, 20 July 2011 (CDT)

Neither have I actually lol. It's good that they're getting a nice wide range of handguns for the players to use because I love going around with pistols instead of long guns in games. --cool-breeze 05:19, 21 July 2011 (CDT)

The CZ 75

Is it me or it does look strange? [1] No slide release or safety. and why is the slide so short? --bozitojugg3rn4ut 13:45, 2 October 2011 (CDT)

Yes it does. The P99's all goofed up too, no slide release and weird trigger guard. - Mr. Wolf 14:52, 2 October 2011 (CDT)

Desert Eagle as Ben McCall's Preferred Sidearm

Could someone justify this. I've been playing the game as Eddie and always see Ben with a two-tone Beretta. Thanks. --Rebusdi 18:02, 24 October 2011 (CDT)

In a bunch of cutscenes, Ben is seen wielding this (Most noticed in Chapter XV) - User:1morey October 24, 2011 7:46 PM (EST)

Weapons

I have a quick question, and I am not sure if anybody here could give me an answer, but I'll try anyway.

The Mendoza Drug Cartel uses the following weapons in the game:

FX-05 Xiuhcoatl, Benelli M4, SPAS-12, Five-seveN, Dan Wesson PPC, AK-47, Beretta 92FS, Desert Eagle, Dragunov, FN FAL, H&K K416, UMP 45, Jericho 941, M60 Machine Gun, M72 LAW, Mini Uzi, Taurus Raging Bull, MP5A2, SIG-Sauer Mosquito, S&W S5906, and the Mk 2 grenade.

How many of these weapons are actually used by mexican drug cartels? If you played the first two game,s there are a few locations that you re-visit, and the Gold of Juarez is a plot device near the end of the game, so before we get any racist accusitions, the game is NOT about the Mexican Drug War, it is just used as a backdrop. Sort of like how Call of Duty 4 is not about the Iraqi War. So, again, how many of these weapons are actually used by mexican drug cartels?

Also, in real-life terms, how many of these weapons would actually used by street gangs, "thugs", and PMCs? - User:1morey March 6, 2012 9:06 PM (EST)

I doubt the cartels have any FX-05 Xiuhcoatls. That being said, I think the best way to answer your question is to direct you to this thread at Militaryphotos.net. I guarantee you will see a lot of the weapons you listed above.--Phillb36 07:24, 7 March 2012 (CST)
Thanks man. Some of those guns looked pretty cool, (too bad they were in the wrong hands). And hey, one of those pics had a confiscated MG-42. I gotta say, if real-life cartels coulg get their hands on a WWII machine gun, it is plausible, a fictional cartel could get its hands on Xiuhcoatls (It's implied they are bought off a rogue PMC), but man. The real-life cartels have some serious firepower. Wonder what would happen if they started to spill into Mafia territory. - User:1morey March 6, 2012 4:10 PM (EST)
It's entirely conceivable that cartel members have military-grade firepower. Look up Los Zetas on Wikipedia. Their membership is mainly deserters from the Mexican Army's counter-terror unit, federal police and members of the Guatemalen Army's special forces. --DeltaOne 06:56, 8 March 2012 (CST)

I'm not sure what you mean by "any racist accusations." This game has a trophy / achievement for killing black people (trophy /achievement "Bad Guy" is the only trophy for killing X number of enemies in a level, and appears in the only level where all the enemies are black). It's hard to get more racist than that. Evil Tim 07:11, 8 March 2012 (CST)

Well, so you're saying if the enemies in that particular level were white, it would be okay? Saying that killing one race over another is wrong is racist itself. Just saying. - User:1morey March 8, 2012 3:52 PM (EST)
If there were any other enemies in that level, or there was a "kill X enemies" achievement on any other level, then you couldn't say it was specifically awarded for killing black people. But there isn't. Evil Tim 02:25, 9 March 2012 (CST)

Cut Weapons

Concept Art for the Team Criminals Hideout.

This concept art piece, shows several weapons which were cut/replaced in the game.

In order from left to right: Beretta M12, Heckler & Koch Hk23 Machine Gun, IMI Uzi (Replaced with the Mini Uzi), Star Z70, Steyr AUGA3, Heckler & Koch MP5N (replaced with the MP5A2), M4A1 Carbine (Replaced with the Heckler & Koch HK416), Yugo M56, PPSh41, Bushmaster "Arm Pistol", unknown submachine gun (maybe an incorrectly drawn Sten?). - User:1morey April 26, 2012 8:17 PM (EST)

What you identified as the PM63 looks more like a Star Z62 or Z70, and the MP40 actually appears to be a Yugo M56.--Phillb36 20:38, 26 April 2012 (CDT)
Thanks for the input. It is greatly appreciated. I just wonder what the heck kind of scope is on the PPSh and M56. I'm still looking for a match on the last two sub machine guns (I know I saw one of them on a movie page on this site, but I forget which gun and which movie, lol). I have to say, I wonder what made them cut out these weapons. They had a very diverse weapon selection choice (well they still do), and some of those weapons have rarely been in a video game (aside from the M4 Carbine, MP5N, and Uzi (But I wonder what made them change to a different variant or weapon.) Besides, a PPSh41 in a Neo-Western video game would have been pretty unique (Probably never been in a video game outside of WWII. - User:1morey April 27, 2012 6:51 AM (EST)
Remember that this is just concept art, and there might have never been any intention at all to include these weapons in the game. Some of the choices would have been odd to say the least if they had been included. I think finding a Yugoslavian M56 in Mexico is highly unlikely. It makes more sense to include the weapons that would actually be encountered in real life.--Phillb36 21:16, 27 April 2012 (CDT)
The second to last "unknown submachine gun" (the bullpup looking one) is actually a Bushmaster "Arm Pistol", a .223 handgun-type-thing that was originally developed as a survival weapon for aircrews. Too bad they didn't include it, it would have been pretty unique and I'm sure what would be it's first video game appearance. --ColonelTomb 21:25, 27 April 2012 (CDT)
@ Phillb36, yeah, I see what you mean, but it would seem like a waste to research, and draw the weapons, but not include them (It seems more than likely that they were going to be in the game, like the M4A1. That got cut.) - User:1morey May 9, 2012 9:35 PM (EST)

PSO-1 Scope

While for my video game collection, the Dragunov appears in only a few games, I must say, Techland did a good job with the Dragunov's scope. I don't know many other games where they got it correct. - User:1morey July 22, 2012 12:26 PM (EST)
