M16A1

The mainstay weapon of the rebellious cadets during the siege of Bunker Hill. The majority of the weapons appear to be M-16A1s. In addition, some of the M-16s are also equipped with the Colt 3x telescopic sights (especially the weapon used by Tom Cruise's character). It should be noted that during the final firefight several SWAT members and National Guardsmen are seen repeatedly pulling on the charging handles of their weapons indicating that these rifles did not have blank adapters to cycle the actions.

MGC16 "non gun"

The MGC-16 (a metal Japanese 1:1 Scale replica gun made by the ModelGun Corp of Japan) was used by many background actors, especially the younger children, in scenes where there was no blank firing.

M1911

Not actually used in combat but seen in the hands of some of the characters or in old style web belts of some of the "officers". In particular in the hands of Tom Cruise while casually cleaning it during the siege and by Ronny Cox during the final firefight. Erroneously referred to as being ".45 mm caliber" during the inventory scene in the school's armory.

M60

Two versions of this weapon are seen in use during the movie. Both the full sized weapon seen situated throughout the "siege" area and used by Tom Cruise during the final firefight and the M60D mounted on the M60 tanks of the National Guard.

Browning M2

Mentioned being in the inventory of the school's armory but, when one is briefly viewed, it is more likely the Browning M3 .50 cal given the full length barrel shroud seen on the weapon. Also the main commander's weapon on the National Guard tanks.

M26 hand grenade

Mentioned in the inventory of the school's armory and again briefly when the character "Shovel" wanders from room to room asking "Got any grenades??"

Sturmgewehr 44 / AK-47

Seen hanging on the wall of General Bache's (George C. Scott) is the world's first "assault rifle" which is above one of its' immediate descendants. Presumably kept by Bache as war trophies from his long career.

Colt Model 1903

Seen near the beginning of the movie when George C. Scott's character is getting ready for the dance. This weapons was issued to general officers until the 1970's when it was replaced by the M15 General Officer's pistol When Scott's character and a local thug are struggling the weapon is removed from the holster and used to accidentally shoot and kill a local boy prompting the events leading to the siege. Afterwards Scott's character's exclamation "There was a round in the chamber...I forgot!!!" seems unlikely since a general officer would not forget to check such a basic principle of firearms safety. Ironically this is the same weapons Scott used in Patton to fire at an attacking HE-111 while daring it to shoot him in the nose.

81 mm Mortar

Seen and mentioned during the inventory of the school's armory. Given the lighting of the scene they could have been either the M1 or M29.
