gun brand pages

Looks good, the H&K logo looks a bit big. Good luck with Smith & Wesson! --Predator20 23:36, 23 December 2011 (CST)

Thank you for the reply, and sorry I misjudged you (to be honest, I didn't notice the discussion, so I did think you were some foolish n00b who was changing things without consulting admins). I thought that I was simply upholding a decision that the rest of the staff had agreed to a long time ago. At the very least, I guess we should discuss the matter again in the topic - and clearly, the forum's not such a good place, since we have too many problems with spammers. And Happy Holidays to you, too. -MT2008 10:01, 24 December 2011 (CST)
Looks good. I'm a mod here. I really like the Colt page. The S&W page is going to be an intensive piece of labor for you. I agree with bunni. We need a category for these new pages. --Jcordell 16:30, 27 December 2011 (CST)

I've been collecting S&W revolvers for several years. S&W has always been a very organized company with outstanding records. Better organized company in so many aspects. In the past couple of years I've gotten into Colt revolvers and I've learned that getting information about the various Colt handguns is very challenging. For most of it's history Colt was rather scatter-shot in it's approach. For example they would have different models use the same serial number range (Official Police and .38 spl Officer Model Target pre-WWII), but the Pre-WWII Officer Model Target .22LR had it's own serial numbers. Why? Who knows? Other models (such as the Theur derringer) would be made for decades and Colt has little to no written records about the models. For example the serial numbers will not tell you what year an individual derringer was made. And then you have the Official Police model and it's variants. Over 700,000 made over a seventy year period. Very challenging. I like the colt double action revolvers, but I can see why colt has almost gone out of business and S&W is still prospering. Hopefully Colt's fairly new management can fix things. --Jcordell 17:37, 27 December 2011 (CST)

No I'm sorry. Not as knowledgable about Taurus. But I do have a couple books that might be helpful. I'll look through them.--Jcordell 19:00, 19 January 2012 (CST)

Once again you're doing good work tackling the pages that the rest of us just lack the energy for. Such as the page for the S&W 27/28. Looks good. --Jcordell 10:40, 7 February 2012 (CST)

Re:M16A2

No, you are the one who is mistaken. Look at the trigger group; it only has 2 positions - Safe and Semi, making this a civilian AR-15 A2 HBAR. A true M16A2 would have a third position for the 3-round burst mode. Orca1 9904 04:11, 25 March 2012 (CDT)

Did you even bother looking at the caption for the image on the M16 rifle series article? You are dangerously close to angering me. I strongly advise you to cease and desist immediately. Orca1 9904 04:34, 25 March 2012 (CDT)

Parser Functions

I added the Parser Functions extension, let me know if you run into any issues. bunni 15:06, 29 April 2012 (CDT)

That looks awesome! bunni 16:54, 29 April 2012 (CDT)

Re: Template

Sure, no problem! I much prefer the infobox to sifting through lines of text. I also think that we should do it for each season, as the cast may change throughout the show and it would be nice to show the number episodes in each. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks about the infobox idea, as I had someone remove it from Person of Interest.----JazzBlackBelt-- 21:29, 29 April 2012 (CDT)

Yeah, no problem. Let me know when you are finished.----JazzBlackBelt-- 16:17, 30 April 2012 (CDT)

Min number of guns for categorization

It has never been formally codified, but I rarely see any page with a total of less than 6 guns total, to be broken up into subcategories. So I would opine that the page must have Seven (7) or more total guns or at least 4 or more in a specific subsection (like pistols). Thoughts? MoviePropMaster2008 01:21, 8 May 2012 (CDT)

Type 3 Heavy Machine Gun

The weapon used in The Thin Red Line if it's the one I believe it is has been used for other shows and at least one version of Medal of Honor. That is why those are there. I did not list it as the wrong weapon just tying up some loose end.--phoenixent 17:47, 8 May 2012 (CDT)

No worries Zack and besides it will only bother one admin and as one also it does not bother me.:) Take care and keep up the good work....--phoenixent 18:27, 8 May 2012 (CDT)

Infoboxes

Those look Great!!!! It would sure cleanup the pages by doing that. I would just do one thing to them and that is add in the Studio for all of them like Dreamworks, Warner Brothers or EA. That would be the best for archivist cross referencing on a search.--phoenixent 22:33, 8 May 2012 (CDT)

Perfect! Adding in the studio is just the right touch on this. Hope everyone else likes it as I think it's needed. Keep up the good work.--phoenixent 11:40, 9 May 2012 (CDT)
I like them as well. Keep doing what you're doing. --Predator20 13:19, 9 May 2012 (CDT)

The Matrix

Done.. You have about an hour to work on it. Let me know when you are done. --phoenixent 10:12, 11 May 2012 (CDT)

Cool deal, If you ever need help I am on here in the AM PST but not everyday. Send me a message and I will help you out.--Steve
Nope working at my shop on some projects and early morning is the best time to get things done....--Steve

"The following weapons" line

This should always be directly above the TOC on media pages, since the TOC itself lists all the guns on those pages. Evil Tim 16:46, 11 May 2012 (CDT)

On gun pages I think the "the following" line goes below the specifications, which is why most pages only had one set of specs before. With the way you've done it on, for example, XM8, it should probably have a "the following" below each set of specs. Evil Tim 05:28, 15 May 2012 (CDT)

Note/Episode

The preference for me is the episode name should be in the note column. Although, there may be some admins who still put it in the title. --Ben41 18:11, 12 May 2012 (CDT)

AEK Series

Keep this page divided. A page like the Remington 870 really should be divided into different models. --Ben41 20:59, 12 May 2012 (CDT)

Infoboxes

The infoboxes look great, no reason not to use them, I think they're a great improvement. What part of CA are you in? bunni 11:52, 15 May 2012 (CDT)

Yea, I'm in LA, but I spent a a few years in Santa Barbara when I went to UCSB. Are you in school up there? bunni 11:15, 18 May 2012 (CDT)
Political Science - hah! What a waste. (: All I learned was that I hated politics. How are you enjoying CE? bunni 21:05, 18 May 2012 (CDT)

Please remove IMDB

I already started on some of them, but could you please remove the IMDB template from actor pages? You only have to modify the ones that you had put the template on. The rest of them that have the link will be taken care of. --Ben41 20:24, 17 May 2012 (CDT)

episodes

You're making assumption based on the pages you've worked on, but there are at least five different ways to do Episodic television. I know we have to codify this, but that other way looks sloppy. I would actually appreciate if if you could help, and created a table with an extra column for the Episode title and Season/Ep number in addition to a column for the air date for TV. Actually that would be the best solution. If you can help me create a NEW TV table then I will submit it to the forum for approval. MoviePropMaster2008 18:41, 19 May 2012 (CDT)

Just a minor note

Don't remove weapons listings for deleted or non-built pages unless you're sure the works they're listed as being in will never qualify for inclusion. Not sure if you're still doing that (I recall you were), but the redlinks do serve a purpose; namely, they build Special:WantedPages, which if we linked to it properly would be a good starting point for people who want to make articles but aren't sure what we don't have. Evil Tim 13:52, 22 May 2012 (CDT)

Column sizes

The trouble with that is that I think it's all based on relative screen resolution. I saw that you made the changes, but the change is barely discernible on my screen. At work I'm at 1024x768, while at home I'm on something bigger. See below. --Funkychinaman 18:58, 22 May 2012 (CDT)

File:Resolution before.jpg
Before
File:Resolution after.jpg
After. You can barely tell there's a difference, even though you increased the size by 150 pixels.
I got a 23 in wide screen at home, but at work I'm stuck with an six year old 4:3 18 in LCD. It was awesome in 2006, in 2012, not so much. I've thought about just buying my own 24 incher and bringing it in, but it's low on the budget priorities. The site is obviously optimized for something bigger than 1024x768. For example, on the AK Gallery, I can only squeeze in two of the three columns at a time, and that's if I scroll to the right. --Funkychinaman 19:12, 22 May 2012 (CDT)

Re: Battleship

I was under the impression that the 'upcoming' template was to be removed once the media was launched or premiered, and in this case Battleship has met that criteria and as such is no longer an 'upcoming' film. If you can think of a more appropriate template that's fine, but I don't believe it should be labeled as 'upcoming' now that it's in theaters. Orca1 9904 23:34, 22 May 2012 (CDT)

re

From what I wrote to you a month ago.

I generally don't delete gun pages (even if they haven't appeared in anything yet). There's always the chance it may appear in something.--Predator20 13:44, 27 April 2012 (CDT)

Act of Valor

Is it out on video yet? --Funkychinaman 17:25, 31 May 2012 (CDT)

Dude... --Funkychinaman 17:33, 31 May 2012 (CDT)
Pointing out the rules, especially concerning legal stuff isn't "making a stink." And there's no harm in waiting. Besides..., some people really take issue with them. --Funkychinaman 18:03, 31 May 2012 (CDT)
It's alright, don't worry about it. --Funkychinaman 11:56, 1 June 2012 (CDT)

Actor Pages

Thanks for doing an excellent job on the CSI pages. Just a reminder when creating an actor page, please do a quick search before completing the page to see if the person has other credits on the site. For instance, Mykel Shannon Jenkins also appears to have been in The Good Guys and Behind Enemy Lines II. --Ben41 17:22, 2 June 2012 (CDT)

add topic" button

That's great, I did not know. Thanks! Next time I do it exclusively so ...

Call of Duty MW3

Done --phoenixent 18:11, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

Did the change to Dark Knight and EvilTim did James Bond. --Steve
I like your templates a lot as it cleans up the page. How does that work for a TV series with multiple seasons? --Steve

Re: M80 Rocket Launcher

There is no hard and fast way to do the categorization (and it isn't codified either), so frankly whether the movie title is first or third is up to personal preference. --Markit 18:28, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

Fine, I have no particular problem with thatt. Just do not try to lecture me again while using caps, I find it rather annoying. --Markit 18:53, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

Act of Valor sniper rifle

I don't know if you saw it but if you look in the talk page there is a big discussion about how this rifle is not an SR-25. If nothing else it has a fixed front sight and a handguard with horizontal slots which the SR-25 does not have. It also has a carry handle mounted which you will never see on an SR-25 (as it has not front sight) and it also has horizontal grooves along the bottom of the upper receiver which are absent on the SR-25 but are there on the DPMS TAC20. --commando552 04:09, 5 June 2012 (CDT)
