The Bells Toll for the Barefooted (Zvony pre bosých)
Zvony pre bosých (english: The bells tool for the barefooted) is 1965 Czechoslovak war drama about the meaning of life, guilt and punishment, and why disobey laws of human society that contradict humanity. The existential drama with ambiguous figures, although it takes place during the Slovak national uprising, which is mere backdrop for consideration of human behavior in extreme situations. Partisans Ondrej (Vlado Müller) and Stašek (Ivan Rajniak) captured a young German soldier (Axel Dietrich). They can not shoot him even though it is a burden for them and take it with you on the arduous journey. During the hardships in the mountains converge, help one another. Finally they was tracked down and captured by German units. Inhuman officer wants to force the young soldier, so that in person shoot both prisoners. The soldier revolted and refused to fulfill this orders. Subsequently, he was executed along with two partisans.
