Gavan O'Herlihy is an Irish actor and the son of the late actor Dan O'Herlihy. One of his earliest roles was that of elder brother Chuck Cunningham on the sitcom Happy Days, but he was quickly written out, giving birth to the TV trope "Chuck Cunningham Syndrome," where a character is completely written out of the story, sometimes to the point of having never existed.
