The War of the Worlds (1953)
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The War of the Worlds is the 1953 film adaptation of the famous H.G. Wells novel of the same name. It is widely regarded as one of the best science-fiction novel-to-film adaptations, but like alot of other novel-to-film adaptations, it takes many creative liberties with the original story. With the location of the film taking place in California, instead of in the United Kingdom, the setting in the 1950s rather than the 1890s, and many of the title characters that appear in the novel being completely absent in the film adaptation. Nevertheless, the film garnered much critical acclaim and status that still continues to this day. A remake was made in 2005 under the title War of the Worlds.
