The Yarygin PYa is a semi-automatic pistol developed in Russia, chambered in the Russian version of the 9x19mm. It is a double action, short recoil action pistol. Currently it is being used by some military units in the North Caucuses region, and is replacing the Makarov PMM as the main sidearm of the Russian Ground Forces. While the MP-443 is the military version, the MP-446 is the sporting derivative of it. The most distinct feature of it is its ability to use overpressure (+P+) armor-piercing rounds, such as the 7N21 and the 7N31
