Talk:Bones
Booth's 1911
If this is an FBI issue 1911 it's neither a sig nor an S&W. It's a Springfield Armory Pro Operator. Springfield's part number is PC9105LP and it is in the FBI's TOE (and is used by HRT among other units). The FBI currently issues Glock 22/23, and previously issued a Sig P226 (as can be seen in the X Files.) I'm not aware that either the S&W or the Sig 1911's are current issue though it's not impossible that the show simply got it wrong. 66.93.203.152 21:52, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
It's a TV show, not reality. Not to mention, Bones isn't exactly set in reality. After all a Ghost saved Booth from the Gravedigger. TV, and film almost always go for what looks good, not what looks right. --Crazycrankle 22:20, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
I thought the ghost was part of the visions he was having from the brain tumor. He also had a cartoon character talk to him in an interrogation. -J3
Based on the screen-cap, it could be either. We'd need a profile shot to settle this, although the grips (if I remember right) were synthetic, which puts it firmly within the realm of S&W (why would you put commercial grips on a basically from-scratch custom 1911?); the whole page needs updates, anyway (still in Season 4).
I'm inclined to say it's a SIG GSR due to the squared appearence.
I am inclined to believe that it is the S&W due to the fact that the Sig GSR has a very distinct appearance to the slide. The older model Sig 1911 pistols have a "groove" on both sides of the barrel from the muzzle down to the ejection port. The S&W is more traditional in appearance with sides on the barrel. That is except for the external extractor that both of them have and that is clearly visible from the pics here. --Ram229 23:06, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
Booth's Revolver
In numerous episodes of the first season booth is seen carrying a revolver as his primary weapon while on duty. Since I doubt he has been in the FBI since the 1980's this seems really odd especially because he constantly goes back and forth between this and his Glock between episodes. -Anonymous
His revolver seems to be a smith and wesson 681 .357 magnum with after market grips.
You sure? I could of sworn it had adjustable sights. My guess would be a S&W Model 686, or possobly a 686P, with either a 3" or 4" barrel.
alternate reality
would someone please correct that one its not an alternate reality, its a dream sequence if it was alternate reality Booth wouldn't remember it and it wouldn't be discussed
Alternate reality doesn't have to be literal, Booths point of view was that it was real. Therefore a reality, and since not the primary, an alternate one. That was my thinking, and I have no problem with someone changing it. --Crazycrankle 20:08, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Needs Update
I might just have to use my laptop to screencap previous and the latest season; if someone can update this show, could they? Please?
- Why are you asking others to update it? If they could, they would. But they can't, so they don't......MoviePropMaster2008 05:40, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
I don't even know where to start; I can't even figure out how to screencap, much less insert photographs into the page. I don't even know the first thing about using HTML, and the only reason why I can sign my pages is because I saw the triple tilde on a Wikipedia post a while ago.
All I wanted to do was to flag it for someone else, so that maybe they could help. I couldn't find any kind of help page around here, and I don't know if this site uses the exact same type of page as Wikipedia (the code might be different or something), so I guess I'll just delete my account and go back to debating things that don't add up to much at Capcom-Unity or something...
If you want to screencap, download the VLC player. It has a screencap tool. Now even if you don't add screencaps, you can still "update" the page with what weapons are used in whatever episode. Like in SE3EP2 "Soccer Mom in the Mini-Van" A Smith & Wesson Model 19 was used. --Predator20 14:29, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- You would add...
Actually screencapping can be done using the windows snipping tool in conjuction with any vido player. I have the first four seasons on DVD but have several other movies I'm currently working on. I'll see about updating some of this within the next few weeks though. -Anonymous 00:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Smith & Wesson Model 19
A Smith & Wesson Model 19 is seen being used in "Soccer Mom in the Mini-Van".
While there's no screencaps, it tells you what and where it was used. --Predator20 14:27, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Series 6
Just watched the first episode, there are quite a few AK's, a tokarev, and Booth is packing an M4 with a Laser aiming module, Red dot sight, surefire torch and a front grip in Afghanistan --Captain Snikt 23:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Taurus Model 66
Sheriff Leonard Wilkinson (Brian Howe) uses this revolver to hold a woman hostage, and shoot Bones in the arm.
Looks like a 686 to me. Frame looks less reflective than the cylinder as well. Could maybe be a 610 but I sincerely doubt it.--ConditionNone 02:30, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- That revolver looks TINY! Look how small it looks in his hand, compared to his face and the woman's face and hands. It must be a .22 revolver. Also the front sight post looks out of scale for a 686. 75.36.151.143 11:21, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- Could also be a UHC Airsoft Spring or Gas Powered revolver. They make a model very close to the S&W 686
The Man in the Fallout Shelter--Season One
In season one (I'm just now seeing the show for the first time...), the episode 'The Man in the Fallout Shelter' has a brief shot of a photo of a mummified man with a pistol held across his chest. It's old, could be S&W or Colt. It looks familiar, but I can't place it.
Anyone?
The shot is in the first few minutes of the show, as Booth hands over a suitcase full of goodies to Bones, then gets dragged off to the Christmas party by the elfin Angela. I should be so lucky....
