Handguns

Beretta 92SB

The Beretta 92SB (incorrectly) appears in the game as the M9, and is used by Sgt. Paul Jackson and many of the Marines and enemies as their standard sidearm. It is a relatively weak pistol, but has the highest magazine capacity of 15 rounds of 9mm and the lowest recoil allowing quick follow up shots. It can be suppressed.

Heckler & Koch USP45

The H&K USP45 is seen in game as the sidearm of Sgt. "Soap" MacTavish and the other S.A.S. soldiers in the game. It has a underbarrel flashlight that is unused in the game. It uses .45 ACP rounds in a 12 round magazine. It's recoil, capacity and stopping power make this gun the most balanced in classes. It is incorrectly seen with a HK1 LAM [Laser Aiming Module], which only fits the Mk. 23 SOCOM. It can be suppressed.

Springfield Armory Loaded

A version of the 1911 makes an appearance in game as the "M1911 .45." Though no one knows what it's specifically modeled after, the gun that it resembles most is a Springfield Armory Loaded model with aftermarket Gunner G-10 golfball-cut grips (as opposed to the aforementioned Kimber and MEU (SOC) pistols, as it was modeled to be used in the roles of). Features like the stainless steel barrel and bushing, Novak sights and match grade trigger separate it from the Kimber and MEU SOC which do not have these. It has seven round magazines in singleplayer, but eight in multiplayer. It is notibly used by Captain Price as his sidearm of choice, and by Viktor Zakhaev when he is cornered. Captain Price slides his 1911 to "Soap" on the bridge at near end of the game, and a stainless version with black grips is used by Staff Sergeant Griggs in the same level while tugging Soap to cover. Griggs either has eight round magazines, or had a round in the chamber, as he fired eight shots. It can be suppressed.

IMI/Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark XIX

The Desert Eagle appears in this game chambered for .50 Action Express and is the most powerful pistol holding 7 rounds in magazine but having the largest recoil. The main villain, Imran Zakhaev carries this pistol as his weapon of choice. Khaled Al-Asad borrows it to kill President Al-Fulahni. The only other Desert Eagle in singleplayer, and the only usable one, is on the level "Crew Expendable" when an Ultranationalist with two of them jumps you on the ship. One with a black slide is seen in the S.A.S. armory. This gun is one of the six weapons in multiplayer that can have a gold finish.

Glock 17

The Glock 17 appears, though like the PPSh-41, it is not actually in the game. It is used in the "Last Stand" and "Overkill" perk symbols.

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch MP5N & SD3

The H&K MP5N is often used by Sgt. "Soap" McTavish and some of the S.A.S. Operatives, along with the Marines in Russia and Captain "Deadly" Pelayo after her AH-1W "Super Cobra" is shot down, and is also used by some of the enemies. The H&K MP5SD3 is also wielded by the player and some S.A.S. Operatives in the prologue and epilogue levels. When a suppressor is attached to the weapon in multiplayer, it becomes an MP5SD3 with a Navy trigger group. The MP5 fires 9x19mm rounds from a 30 round box magazine. Accurate and decently powerful, it is a popular all-around weapon in multiplayer especially.

Skorpion SA Vz.61

The SA Vz.61 Skorpion appears in this game, and is used by some enemies. High short-range damage and an extreme rate of fire makes it effective up close, although it is hindered by a slow reload, low capacity of 20 .32 ACP rounds, and weak long-range damage. The weapon also has very little muzzle climb, and due to an early glitch in multiplayer whereby damage did not decrease when silenced, the weapon has been banned from all major competitive leagues. The ban is likely for its ability to cause 50 damage at close range (Half the regular health, 1/4th of the damage in Old School, and kills in one shot on Hardcore).

IMI Mini Uzi

The Mini Uzi appears in this game, and is also used by many enemies. Modeled with weaker damage, it fires 9mm rounds from a 32 round magazine at a high rate of fire. The high rate of fire with bouncing recoil leaves its accuracy poor for all but the shortest ranges. Zakhaev's son uses one while escorting Al-Fulahni to his execution, and while running from Soap, Gaz and Griggs right up until the end. This gun is one of the six weapons in multiplayer that can have a gold finish.

FN P90 TR

The FN P90 TR, a version of the P90 with three accessory rails appears in the game, and is a rarely seen weapon (it is occasionally used by some of the enemies). It's default form always has H&K sights and an unused laser. Its sole "special" appearance is in "All Ghillied Up" as the P90SD (with suppressor and red dot sight), while in "Heat" and the epilogue mission "Mile High Club" it is simply the P90, unsuppressed and using open rail iron sights. In all versions it fires 5.7x28mm rounds from a 50-round magazine. The P90 is modeled with relatively weak per-hit damage and mediocre accuracy, but relies on a high rate of fire and large magazine capacity for its effectiveness. The weapon is easy to wield in multiplayer, so much so that it has been restricted in competitive play due to its "spray" advantage over other weapons. Despite however many additions, it always has a laser attached to the side rail, and if it does not have any special sights, it is seen as having H&K Diopter sights.

PPSh-41

Although never seen or used in-game, many of the statues throughout the games's campaign and multiplayer levels hold a cement version of the Russian PPSh-41.

Assault Rifles

Kalashnikov AKS-74U (as the AK-74U)

The AKS-74U appears in game incorrectly as the "AK-74U" and as a submachine gun. While it handles like the other SMGs, and its damage is modeled as equivalent to the H&K MP5, the AKS-74U can penetrate walls better and other cover like the other assault rifles. None of the other SMGs have this advantage. With decent power and accuracy, the AKS-74U is an effective close and medium range weapon, with even-handling recoil and a high rate of fire from its 30-round magazine. In Campaign mode, it is mostly seen being used by Al-Asad's forces in the Middle East and has a slower rate of fire than in multiplayer. One with a GP-25 mounted is seen in the S.A.S. armory. It seems the ridiculously short front end is based on the AK-47 "Beta Spetsnaz", an airsoft gun made by Tokyo Marui.

Colt M16A4

The M16A4 appears in the game, used by many of the US Marines. One of the characters, Lt. Vasquez, who is Sgt. Jackson's commander in the U.S. levels, carries an M16A4/M203 combo as his weapon of choice. In-game, the M16A4 is attributed with almost the same damage as the AK-47 and G3, despite the real weapon having far from the energy of either. In multiplayer, it is modeled accurately as an M16A4, firing a very quick three round burst, but with a slight pause between bursts. This makes an on-target salvo from the M16 very effective, but also makes misses much more costly, especially in close-quarters when pitted against full-auto weapons. In Singleplayer the M16 is seen as fully automatic while still having the carrying handle of an A4, making it a Colt Canada C7A1, or is easily remedied by putting an A4 upper on an A3 Lower.

Also note that when the M16 is mounted with optics, the front sight and the gas block are removed. This would render the gun unable to fire automatically after the first shot. The shooter would have to manually load a round into the chamber by racking the bolt. This would effectively make the gun a bolt action.

Kalashnikov AK-47

The AK-47 appears in the game, and is used by most of the enemies and allied Russian soldiers. It is also hybrid, it is milled but has strengthening ribs. It fires 7.62x39mm rounds in a 30 round magazine. Some of them have GP-25 Kostyor 40mm muzzle loaded Grenade Launchers mounted on them. They feature a similar detonation safety as the M203 rounds, which is supposed to deter close-range use but instead encourages it due to massive (always lethal) impact damage. It is powerful and somewhat accurate and is the equivalent to the M16 rifle. Online and especially in the competitive leagues, the AK-47 has become an established favorite for many of the same reasons it has in the real world; it is powerful and flexible, offering dependable performance in nearly every situation. This gun is one of the six weapons in multiplayer that can have a gold finish, this one most likely inspired by Saddam Hussein's gold-plated AK-47.

Colt M4A1

The M4A1 Carbine is a fully automatic firing carbine version of the M16 rifle and being such is modeled to have quicker but less accurate and stable handling. While damage can be expected to be lower due to a shorter barrel, the game exaggerates this difference, modeling similar damage characteristics as the Uzi and P90. This may have been intended to reflect the nature of the carbine as a bridge between a battle rifle and an SMG/PDW. The M4A1 in-game is not a stock M4A1, as it has a 16" HBAR barrel, old style stock, and a KAC RAS. Whenever the M4A1 has an M203 attached it also gets an M203 leaf sight on the front of the top rail of the weapon, though it is unusable. The M4A1 appears in multiplayer with iron sights (which can be replaced with a red dot sight or ACOG scope) and a vertical grip, but appears in singleplayer in five specialized versions:

  • The M4A1, used by some of the U.S. Marines in their missions, and Sgt. MacTavish in the final mission. It has a Tasco red dot scope, vertical grip, and an AN/PEQ-2 laser.
  • The M4A1 Suppressed, only used by non-playable characters, notably Gaz in the mission "Crew Expendable", one of the only times he does not use his G36C. It is the same as the "normal" M4A1 except is has a suppressor. It can be acquired by using the "Give All" cheat in the developer's console on the PC version, but this will only work on the level "Ultimatum".
  • The M4A1 Grenadier, used by some of the U.S. Marines in their missions, and is Captain Price's signature weapon along with his 1911. It has an EOTech 552 holographic sight, M203 grenade launcher, and an AN/PEQ-2 laser.
  • The M4A1 SOPMOD, used by the some of the S.A.S. troopers and could be considered Sgt. "Soap" MacTavish's signature weapon. It is the same as the M4A1 Grenadier except it has a Sure Shot reflex sight replacing the EOTech, and a suppressor. This is slightly inaccurate, as the actual S.A.S. uses the Canadian C8SFW, a similar weapon to the M4A1.
  • Another M4A1 SOPMOD, a version unused in the final game. Like the M4A1 Suppressed, however, it can still be accessed through the console on PC versions. It has the same attachments as the aforementioned SOPMOD, albeit having basic Iron Sights in place of a Sure Shot reflex sight.

Heckler & Koch G3A4

The H&K G3A4, noted by collapsable stock, and a normal length barrel, distinguishing it from the G3KA4 appears in this game and, like the AK-47, is used by many of the enemies in the game. It can fire full-auto in singleplayer, but is reduced to semi-auto in multiplayer. The G3A4 fires 7.62x51mm NATO from a 20-round magazine. In the game, the base damage from this round is made equivalent to both the AK-47 and M16A4, though it seems to have better damage at range. The M14, which fires the same ammunition and is in the same class however, is correctly modeled as being more powerful than rifles firing intermediate cartridges such as the 5.56x45mm NATO or the 7.62.x39mm Soviet. The in-game weapon correctly reflects the real-world high accuracy of the G3, but its recoil is made to be incredibly light, much milder even than the AK-47.

Heckler & Koch G36C

The H&K G36C appears in this game and is used by the S.A.S., the allied Russian soldiers in "Safehouse" and many enemies late in the game. It anachronistically appears in a level set in 1996, despite the G36 series not entering Bundeswehr service until 1997. It has a Tasco red dot scope in singleplayer and open sights in multiplayer. It has slightly heavier recoil than the M4A1, but a higher rate of fire and much less sight sway. It is modeled with equal damage to the M4A1, reflecting its intermediate status as a carbine. It is Gaz's signature weapon and the first weapon you use in the game. It is incorrectly depicted with a weighted magazine that is released by flicking the weapon downwards. G36 magazines are removed by actuating the paddle forward of the trigger guard, similar to the AK-47.

M14

The M14 Rifle appears in the game, with a black stock, silver Knight's Armaments RAS, a silver RAS scope mount, and black rail covers on the side rails. It fires 7.62x51mm from a 20 round magazine, like the G3, but unlike the G3 is accurately portrayed as being significantly more powerful than the other assault rifles, and has a hefty recoil befitting the powerful cartridge. It appears in multiplayer only.

It is also modified as a sniper rifle, the M21. Strangely, the M21 is a modified M14, although often with a smaller 10-round magazine, but have much different attributes in the game.

Sturmgewehr 44

The Sturmgewehr 44 was the first true assault rifle ever created firing a 7.92x33 Kurz round in a 30 round curved box magazine. It is powerful but inaccurate, and has high recoil. It appears in multiplayer only. It is a nod to the previous COD games which the gun was featured in.

Kalashnikov AKM

Although not seen or used in the game, in some levels as Sgt. "Soap" MacTavish, there are posters on walls giving the details of an AKM assault rifle.

Shotguns

Winchester 1200

The Winchester 1200 appears in this game as the "W1200" and is used by some of the Marines and many enemies throughout the game. Gaz pulls out a Model 1200 in the "Crew Expendable" level, memorably quoting Hicks (Michael Biehn) (when he pulls out his Ithaca 37 "Stakeout") from Aliens, when he says he likes to "Keep it handy for close encounters". It is powerful at close range, but is slow to reload, and is seen as not even hitting anything past 10 metres. Lt. Vasquez carried one without the stock on his back although he never uses it.

Benelli M4 Super 90

The Benelli M4 Super 90 appears in this game as the "M1014", and has a higher rate of fire than the W1200, but in multiplayer, has a lower magazine capacity, and like the W1200, has a slow reload time. It is used by some Marines and by Soap McTavish in the "Safehouse" level. The player never cocks the weapon on an empty reload, which would mean that a round wouldn't be chambered and the gun couldn't fire. This gun is one of the six weapons in multiplayer that can have a gold finish.

Sniper Rifles

M40A3

The M40A3 appears in multiplayer only, and is similar in performance to the R700 (with the conspicuous exception of the weapon's sway and time during breathing to steady a shot). It is more accurate and just as powerful. It holds five rounds of 7.62x51mm NATO in an integral box-magazine and has to be loaded one bullet at a time. Other than the S.A.S. armory, it appears in multiplayer only. A programming error means that all weapons with scopes use the M40A3 reticle image, called scope_overlay_m40a3, rather than their own; the game files contain seven other reticle models, including two seperate ones for the M21.

M21

The M21 Sniper Rifle appears in this game in both suppressed and unsuppressed versions. It is used by the S.A.S. and Marine snipers. It is a top of the line M14 rifle fitted with a scope (and a silver RAS mount for that scope), silver Knight's Armaments RAS, black rail covers on the side rails, and a smaller 10 round magazine.

Dragunov SVD

The Dragunov SVD appears in this game and is used by all enemy snipers in the game. It was designed in the 1960s as a replacement of the outdated Mosin-Nagant rifle. It is well known for its power, precision, and reliability. It's design is mainly based on the AK-47, but is chambered in 7.62x54mmR cartridges for increased range and power. It's random recoil makes it difficult to use. This gun is one of the six weapons in multiplayer that can have a gold finish.

Remington Model 700P

The Remington Model 700P appears in this game as the "R700", whilst it is very powerful, it has the shakiest in scope view. and frequently misses where it as actually shooting. Its heavy recoil also consumes time for a follow up shot. It only appears once in singleplayer, used by "Soap" McTavish in the "Sins of the Father" mission, prior to the pursuit of Victor Zakhaev. It holds four rounds of 7.62x51mm NATO in an integral box-magazine and has to be loaded one bullet at a time. The caliber is determined based on the size of the bolt and breech. Oddly, the M40A3 also seen in game is very much the same weapon, although in the game they have slightly different attributes.

Barrett M82A1

The Barrett M82 appears in the game, unlocked in multiplayer as a portable weapon and in a single player mission as a stationary weapon (with variable zoom and unlimited ammunition), and is the most powerful sniper rifle in the game. Lieutenant Price, in the single-player mission "One Shot, One Kill", uses the Barrett M82A1 to shoot Zakhaev's left arm off from a mile away.

Machine Guns

FN M249E2 SAW

The M249E2 appears in the game, used by the US Marines (Most notably SSgt Griggs) and members of the S.A.S. (which is slightly inaccurate as the S.A.S. would use the FN Minimi). The M249 fires 100 rounds of 5.56x45mm rounds from a 200 round box magazine at a rate of 915 RPM. It's accuracy is moderate to good and power equivalent to a M4A1, and is great for support.

Degtyarev RPD

The Degtyarev RPD Light Machine Gun appears in the game, and is the support weapon used by the enemies in the game. It fires 7.62x39mm rounds from a 100 round belt box. It is loud, accurate, and has among the best sights in the game.

M60E3

The M60E3 appears, incorrectly referred to as the M60E4, which has a much shorter barrel and larger hand-guard than the E3. It only appears twice in singleplayer, both in the last stand at the end of the game. It is used by one of the soldiers accompanying Zakhaev, and usable if you kill the first driver pulling up to the destroyed bridge. For some reason the singleplayer version has a higher rate of fire than the one in multiplayer. It fires 7.62x51mm rounds from a 100 round belt box. This gun is one of the six weapons in multiplayer that can have a gold finish.

GE M134 Minigun

The GE M134 Minigun appears as a player-usable stationary weapon mounted on a downed helicopter in "Heat" and is used by a door gunner on a Blackhawk in both the prologue level and in "The Sins of The Father" level. It should be noted that in the game, when "Soap" is covering his unit's withdrawal using the minigun in the crashed Blackhawk, the weapon should not be working. When mounted on an aircraft the weapon is hooked into the aircraft's electrical system otherwise it would require a large external battery. It would only be possible if the helicopter had only crashed an hour or two before the minigun was used; however, even that is assuming that the crash didn't damage the battery.

Browning M2HB

The Browning M2HB is seen mounted on the commander's hatch of M1A1HA Abrams tanks in several missions, and is not supposed to be operated by the player at any point. However, one can be used in a single level, "Charlie Don't Surf" by using a glitch to get outside the map, a player can find a usable M2HB on a stand.

FN M240

Launchers

M203

The M203 grenade launcher appears on as the grenade launcher for every weapon except the AK-47. This weapon in multiplayer is commonly referred to as the 'noob tube' because of its ability to get a cheap, instant kill even if the target is too close for it to arm. To balance this out, using the M203 negates the ability to select a perk from the perk 1 options. A note of interest is that when it's mounted on the M4A1 and M16A4, the 3rd person model's lower receiver height is stretched and gives them a somewhat silly appearance; also, the M203 itself is too small in scale. In addition it also lacks a trigger guard.

GP-25

The GP-25 grenade launcher is seen on the AK-47 only, while it is 40mm, it is seen as being able to use the same rounds as the M203s, which it cannot. One is also seen mounted on an AKS-74U in the S.A.S. armory in the first mission.

RPG-7

The RPG-7 is commonly seen in enemy hands and can be used by the player ingame. In multiplayer is it good weapon against helicopters, though has abysmal accuracy at long range due to the round spiraling unpredictably.

FIM-92A Stinger

The FIM-92A Stinger down an enemy helicopter, and can be used by Price at several points in All Ghillied Up to shoot helicopters (one of which is on the ground with multiple trees and vehicles surrounding it, in which case it's kind of surprising the Stinger can even get a lock).

FGM-148 Javelin

The FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank guided missile launcher is used in the single-player missions "War Pig" and "Heat" to destroy enemy tanks; it is single-shot, requires a lock-on to fire and can only lock onto (and thus fire at) those tanks, but in-game these units holds unlimited missiles. A Direct-Attack mode Javelin can be found near the missile silos on "All In".

The Mk 19 grenade launcher appears as a usable weapon mounted on a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter, its use governed by a heat gauge.
