Salt (2010)

Salt is a 2010 action film directed by Philip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger) and starring Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who finds herself being accused of being a Russian sleeper agent. She finds herself questioning her loyalties as she goes on the run to clear her name.

The following weapons were used in the film Salt:

WARNING! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Handguns

SIG-Sauer P229

Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) uses a SIG-Sauer P229 notably at the President’s Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), when she confronts CIA Agent Ted Winter (Liev Schreiber). The 229 is used by both Winters and Agent Peabody (Chiwetel Ejiofor) as well.

TRIVIA: During the filming of the final battle sequence between Salt and Winter, Ms. Jolie sustained a minor injury on the set and had to be rushed to the hospital. The crew continued filming POV shots until she returned. The on set armorer stood in for Ms. Jolie in several shots to help Liev Shrieber establish a realistic line of sight and also fired the Sig 229 in an additional scene where the gun had to be fired to create a muzzle flash at the edge of the camera frame (see the sales page for the screen used SIG 229, here.)

The gun appears again on the bed of her hotel room when she colors her hair to change her appearance, and also during the sequence that takes place in the crypt underneath St. Bart’s cathedral in New York when Evelyn goes after the President of Russia. Scenes from the sequence are also featured in two of the official studio trailers for the film. (see the sales page for the actual screen used SIG 232, here.)
