The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is the 2003 film adaptation of the Alan Moore comic book series. The film stars Sean Connery as the legendary adventurer Allan Quatermain, who teams with other famous literary characters to face a mysterious foe bent on starting a world war. The film is set in the year 1899, but in keeping with the fantasy aspect of the film, features several anachronistic weapons.
The following firearms were used in the film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen:
Lee-Enfield rifle
Long Lee-Enfield rifles are first seen carried by British soldiers in their futile attempt to stop the tank breaking into the Bank of England at the beginning of the film. Long Lee-Enfield rifles would later be used by the Fantom's men (disguised as British soldiers) in Berlin when they abducted the German scientists.
Webley Green revolver
Allan Quatermain (Sean Connery) uses a Webley Green revolver as his sidearm throughout the film.
Double Barreled Express "Matilda" Rifle
Quatermain (Sean Connery) carries as his primary firearm a double barreled exposed hammer "Express Rifle". It appears to have barrels between 28 and 30 inches in length.
Tokarev TT-33
A decorated Tokarev TT-33 pistol is used by Captain Nemo (Naseeruddin Shah).
Sten Mk.II submachine gun
The crew of Captain Nemo (Naseeruddin Shah) are seen armed with decorated Sten Mk.II submachine guns in both Venice and at the Fantom/M's secret factory/hideout in Mongolia.
AK rifle
An AK-47-type rifle is one of the ones used as the basis for a number of automatic rifles used by Fantom's men.
Thompson submachine gun
The Thompson submachine gun is also used as the basis for a number of the Fantom's automatic rifles.
Uzi submachine gun
In addition to the Thompson and the AK rifles, the Uzi carbine was used as a basis for the automatic weapons carried by the Fantom's gunmen when they tried to assassinate Quatermain in Kenya.
Mauser C96
One of the Fantom's assassins was seen using a Mauser C96 pistol in Kenya when they shot one of Quatermain's friends. It was apparently loaded with only one round, I guess they didn't make a lot of blanks for this kind of gun. -Many of them were chambered for 9mm rounds, and were known as "Red 9's" because of the red 9 on the handle. I doubt 9mm blanks are hard to come across....unless they used an original C96 firing 7.63x25mm Mauser rounds, not sure about blanks for those. - Diego Wolfwood
Winchester 1873 lever-action rifle
Winchester Model 1873 lever-action rifles with engraving were used by both Quartermain and Special Agent Tom Sawyer throughout the film.
Artillery Luger P08
Dorian Gray used an anachronistic gold plated Artillery Luger P08. The Luger's design was first patented in 1898, one year before the film takes place. However, it did not enter production until 1900, making it unlikely that Dorian would own one.
On the other hand Dorian is working for a criminal mastermind who profits from wartime technology so maybe it was designed by the great professor
Colt New Service
In addition to his Winchester, Special Agent Tom Sawyer (Shane West) carries two nickel Colt New Service revolvers (which had only been introduced in 1898).
