Red Dawn (2012)
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Red Dawn is the remake of the 1984 Charlie Sheen/Patrick Swayze film of the same name. The 2011 remake stars Chris Hemsworth and Jeffrey Dean Morgan and involves an invasion of the continental United States by an enemy force. Originally, the invaders were supposed to be Chinese, but they have been changed to North Koreans.
The following weapons appear in the remake of the film Red Dawn:
AKM (Modified to resemble AK-103)
The standard assault rifle of the People's Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF) in the film appears to be the AKM, visually modified with the addition of plastic furniture and AK-74-style muzzle brakes to resemble the AK-103. This is an error since the Chinese no longer have any Kalashnikov-style rifles (including the Norinco Type 56 and Norinco Type 81) in frontline service, but currently use Norinco QBZ-95 and QBZ-03 rifles.
DSC: The soldiers in the movie might be rear-guard troops, in which case they'd probably have second-hand weapons.
On the other hand, the invading soldiers have been changed from Chinese to North Korean, so they would still have Kalashnikov type weapons.
AKMSU
The AKMSU carbine is used by KPA soldiers and the Wolverines, modified with what appears to be a KCI quad rail system.
Norinco Type 67
What appears to be a Norinco Type 67 machine gun is mounted on a KPA armored personnel carrier.
Browning M2HB
The Browning M2 machine gun is seen mounted on PLA Humvees and tanks.
