first article!

Yeah, I know it looks like crap anybody can feel free to edit it as they see fit.

It's my first article, so yeah...

Good start, now start separating the weapons into distinct sections, put in images from the gun pages, try to find as many screenshots as possible. If you can't do it yourself, at least search on Google for some as placeholders. Do your best to make it not look like crap. I did you a favor and uploaded the cover poster art. Hopefully, it looks better, I'm having issues getting the proper images, so I'll have to link screenshots.

DLC guns

The SIG 540 is dressed up like a Ghost In The shell rifle http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/just-cause-2-le.jpg I'm not sure what Rico's DLC revolver is. I guessed it was a Performance Center based on how modded up it is.

Checked the Just Cause 2 wikia page for the revolver, they state that it looks closest to the Smith & Wesson Model 500. --Milkovich Error creating thumbnail: File missing 04:59, 8 April 2011 (CDT)
Are you sure the assault rifle is an M4A1? It doesn't look like it has a buffer tube in that stock, so it's either based on one of the various piston M4 clones or (more likely) an airsoft gun. As for the shotgun, can you get a shot of the right of the reciever? It looks like some tacticool deal, but from that side it could be just about anything. Grenade looks like a Type 97 hand grenade with an M26 fuze assembly and spoon. Vangelis2 20:57, 8 April 2011 (CDT)
Added a shot of the right side, might be a bit dark though. Oddly, the weapon has two ejection ports, one on the right and one on the underside of the receiver. --Milkovich Error creating thumbnail: File missing 03:52, 9 April 2011 (CDT)
I'm thinking it's a severely customised Remington 870 or Mossberg 500; google certainly finds me stock kits like that (though usually attached slightly lower down) and it's not that hard to find an aftermarket heat shield. The lower port is the loading gate; if it ejects from there it thinks it's an Ithaca 37. Wouldn't say it's a Benelli M-series (which I'd take as your guess, from the screenshot names), it doesn't have that slit behind the ejection port for the charging handle to travel in. Jackbel seems to think that the Revolver is a Colt King Cobra. While the rough shape fits, the details seem off. Starting with the front sights and safety. --Milkovich Error creating thumbnail: File missing 09:12, 10 April 2011 (CDT)

Yeah, I'd say SW500 myself, the length-width ratio for the cylinder is way off on the King Cobra compared to the game gun, too, and the game magnum's cylinder flutes are in line with the cylinder stop notches like on the S&W rather than having the notches in the space between the flutings like on the Colt. Evil Tim
I don't think it is a Model 500, as there is no version that has a barrel that looks like that. There have been a couple of performance centre version of the Smith & Wesson Model 629 that are a pretty close match to that though. --commando552 10:24, 10 April 2011 (CDT)
Yeah, but there are also no miniguns that work without any source of ammo and no actual M4s that work with a skeleton stock that doesn't show the recoil buffer. From the picture we have, it looks like they just didn't realise the ejector housing was supposed to be a tube. From the perfcentre pic we have, it looks like that has offset cylinder stop notches just like the Colt and unlike the SW500 and game weapon, too. Evil Tim 10:32, 10 April 2011 (CDT)
You say it is excusable that they got every detail about the gun forward of the cylinder wrong, and shoot down my idea because the cylinder stop notches are in the wrong place?!?!? As you have said, accuracy does not appear to have been their primary concern when modelling these guns. Also, from the one screencap it is clear that this gun has a 6 round cylinder (like the .44 guns)) as opposed to the 5 round cylinder of the Model 500. There are many performance centre models, and I have seen one that is basically a stealth hunter (google it) without the scope rail, making it appear very close to this gun. --commando552 10:44, 10 April 2011 (CDT)
They didn't, they got one detail forward of the cylinder wrong, that being the shape of the extractor housing; the barrel's right, the rib is right (though hard to see here) and the front sight is exactly right. Giving it an extra chamber is just because everyone knows all revolvers are sixguns. Evil Tim 11:10, 10 April 2011 (CDT)
Allright then, bar the sights then, nothing from this gun comes from a Model 500. It is uncompensated, with the wrong ejector shroud/barrel, and a 6 round cylinder. TBH, it probably is meant to be nothing, but now that I've though about it, it probably looks most like a Taurus 44 with the vented rib ignored. --commando552 11:30, 10 April 2011 (CDT)

I'm not very good when it comes to how firearms work, but: Does the ingame Revolver have two ejector rods? --Milkovich Error creating thumbnail: File missing 10:21, 10 April 2011 (CDT)

Where's the other one? Evil Tim 10:32, 10 April 2011 (CDT)

Ima throw my vote in for it being a S&W 500 BeardedHoplite 10:34, 10 April 2011 (CDT)
