De Lisle Carbine - .45 ACP

Description

The De Lisle Carbine was a very successful attempt to make a suppressed rifle for clandestine use. Designed by William G. De Lisle, the De Lisle is basically a Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III rifle (modified to .45 ACP) with the barrel of a Thompson submachine gun and the magazine of a Colt M1911A1 pistol. It was made only in very limited numbers for British special units. It's considered as one of the quietest firearms ever made.
