A Beretta 92 pistol makes several appearances in the film in the hands of many characters. This particular Beretta is the first model produced (and the sole reason why someone should never list a Beretta as a "Beretta 92" when they can't tell if it is an F or FS.) and it is somewhat strange to see it so actively used during this event (which only takes place in 1994.) The first of these users is a Rwandan Army commander who draws his sidearm and orders Paul Rusesabagina (Don Cheadle) to execute his friends for being "Tutsi Cockroaches", but he manages to bribe the commander into letting them go. One of the UN soldiers under Colonel Oliver's (Nick Nolte) command also is seen armed with a Beretta 92. Another random Rwandan officer is seen waking up Paul somewhat unpleasantly with the barrel of his 92. The last of these users is General Bizimungu (Fana Mokoena), who fires his 92 into the air as he orders his men to rush back to the hotel to stop the attacking Rwandan attackers.
While the Beretta 92 is the most prominently uses Beretta, a Beretta 92FS is seen used by a Interahamwe trying to arrest Paul when the soldiers invade the hotel. Its strange form makes it look like a flashpaper or airsoft replica.
Cheyenne Tactical M-200 Intervention
A French Soldier (to the far left of the Intervention Force Commander) carries a Cheyenne Tactical M-200 Intervention Sniper Rifle.
AK Variants
The AK variants are the most used weapons of the Rwandan soldiers and the Rwandan Army in many different models including Egyptian Maadi AKMs (modified with Russian parts kits), WASR-3s, Polish dark-wood kBks, and Norinco Type 56s.
IMI Galil
Rwandan Army soldiers carry IMI Galil assault rifles. This is historically accurate as R4 rifles (South African made versions of the Galil AR) were imported for use with the Rwandan National Army in 1992.
FN MAG-58
FN MAG-58s are seen mounted on vehicles of both the Rwandan Army and the UN soldiers of France. One Rwandan soldier is seen carrying one as his primary support weapon.
I think that they were British Soldiers.
FAMAS F1
The French UN soldiers are mainly armed with FAMAS F1 rifles. They are not U.N, they are a European Intervention Force, very different from the U.N.
Browning M2HB
Browning M2HB machine guns are seen mounted on French U.N jeeps (they are not U.N) and used by the Rwandan Army soldiers to take shots at the rebel soldiers as they try to shoot the refugees crossing the border.
FN FAL
Belgians UN are seen using Para FN FAL rifles with folding stocks. (They are not U.N)
Uzi Carbine
One of the Belgians UN soldiers is seen armed with an Uzi Carbine. This weapon is a civilian gun though, so it is doubtful it would be issued to the U.N. (They are not U.N)
Heckler & Koch G3A3 (South African configuration)
Both Rwandan rebel soldiers (they are not rebel soldiers they are The Hutu Army) and U.N Soldiers under Colonel Oliver's command are armed with Heckler & Koch G3A3 rifles with South African configurations.
Heckler & Koch MG3
A Heckler & Koch MG3 is seen mounted on a French U.N jeep, (they are not U.N) probably as a stand-in for the AA-52 machine gun that was standard issue for French forces in 1994.
A Interahamwe is seen with a Remington 870 shotgun, although it is hard to determine at such a distance.
Webley Mk. VI
A Interahamwe shoots out the tires of the U.N truck trying to transport refugees with a Webley Mk. VI revolver, and then shoots down one of the Rwandan Army soldiers.
Browning M1919A4 machine guns (likely the M37 model built specifically for vehicle mounts) is seen on some Belgians UN jeeps and some rebel jeeps as well.
RPG-7
During the night, Interahamwe are seen firing an RPG, likely an RPG-7 at the hotel. Luckily for the refugees inside, only a store room is destroyed.
