What happened to Van Damme? Both he and Dolph Lundgren were big around the same time but then they both just dropped off the radar and started doing lower key films. The same thing happened with Steven Seagal, but he was never that good anyway. -Anonymous

He probably just wasn't as popular anymore OR he needs to constantly be doing bad movies instead of doing a good movie every now and again because of the either he's still addicted to cocaine or he can't put off paying his bills long enough for the money from a good movie to start rolling in-S&Wshooter 05:47, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Jean Claude gives a pretty amazing acting performance in JCVD and there's some scenes in the movie where he kind of talks about what happened to his career. He did just do that third Universal Soldier: Regeneration movie and Dolph's doing The Expendables. --Ben41 05:58, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

I wasn't saying his recent movies are bad, just that they are not as high profile as the ones he was doing two decades ago. Most of his recent films have been either direct to DVD or pretty limited theatrical releases. Also The Expendables is something of a comeback for Dolph. -Anonymous
Besides working on The Expendables, Dolph Lundgren is actually directing his own movies now. I just watched his movie Icarus on Blu Ray and will be doing a page for it soon. -MT2008 12:58, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, the rumor is that JCVD and Seagal were offered roles in Expendables, but turned them down. Oh well. --funkychinaman 02:07, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
from what iv'e heard about JCVD he had a extensive cocaine habit and ahs since been diagnosed with Rapid cycling Bipolar disorder. also he seems unable to keep his hands to himself with his lady friends. This coupled with some frankly appalling box office returns and his genral beahaviour on set pretty much spiked his career. still I love blood sport. hes also going to be fighting some ex-boxer soon. at which piont he'll be over 50 User:fenris357/fenris357 1322hrs 26 July 2010
