I like your taste in firearms, particularly the M1911A1. I refer to it as "the grandfather of the self-loading pistol, yet it can still serve with the new ones today." A fine handgun indeed. I haven't heard of a .50 caliber version though, care to enlighten me? The closest thing to it is an AMT Automag III .50 AE pistol from what I know.
- I wouldn't call the 1911 the "grandfather of the self loader pistols", but it's the most famous of them all, the Colt 1903 came before and the earliest self loader I know of would be the Mauser C-96. And I've read about the 1911 in .50 GI Excalibur01 01:28, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Call of Duty: World at War's Thompson
The weapon has the M1928 Thompson's muzzle break, however it has the M1's sight. I've watched the gameplay video again, it just show "Thompson" so until we get more information about it, I just name it Thompson.
Fair enough. I saw the CoD Spawn figures had the 1928A1 config, and realized that they weren't concurrent with the games, so my mistake. It's a Thompson, nothing more.
They screwed up the 1911 pretty bad though, as they've done in every game.
Too many favs
I think you got too many favorite guns, honestly. Just one in each catagory should be a favorite in my opinion.
Yeah, I'm gonna update the profile and filter it, thanks for reminding me.
Reservoir Dogs
Great work with the Reservoir Dogs page, it looks great. pngs take a while to load though. The site was in great need of a filled out page, excellent work. - Gunmaster45 03:02, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Dawn of the Dead shotgun
You're right about the shotgun. I have one of those aftermarket extended tubes and the tube clamp is easily moveable. I can swap out the aftermarket tube, put the shotgun back on the photography stand and rephotograph it. Argggh. More work for me, but I am glad your eagle eyes caught that, since I was building a gun based on screenshots. best regards. MPM2008
Mossberg 590
Hey YNH, I just wanted to let you know that MPM2008 uploaded the Mossberg 590 for the Dead Presidents page. I already placed it on the page so you don't have to worry about it. Here it is, it's a really impressive image, and be sure to thank MPM2008:

Apology
no need to apologize. I was a bit testy because I'm shooting films during the day and then going to another set and filming until dawn and doing it all over again the next day. You're probably right. But then, that means that the S&W wholesaler who SOLD me that shipment of 5943s in 1993 shipped me different guns and didn't disclose that information. Ugh. I guess I can't yell at them since they went out of business in 2005! (the wholesaler that is, not Smith & Wesson). Great... another thing to be annoyed at. Anyway, my apologies. I've been on at least three movies in the past few weeks. Some are great, some are nightmares. I have to keep it all bottled in and stay polite, even to some screaming bitch producer who's going apeshit over the simplest little thing..... Anyway, I'm sorry for sounding so irritated. I wasn't irritated at YOU. ;) You obviously did a lot of research on this, which is a bit depressing because know you've enlightened me as to a shipment of the WRONG handguns that I paid for.... (but ignorance is not bliss and I guess i had to discover it everntually). Best regards. I'm off to grab some sleep BEFORE I go to another HELL set. :) MoviePropMaster2008 06:10, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
S&W revolvers
I like your taste in S&W revolvers. I'm also partial to the Model 10 and the Model 49 and the Model 17. I have a fondess for the old British Webley breaktops as well. Lugers and Mauser Broomhandles are also favorites though they aren't revolvers of course. By the way I still contend that it is a Python in the alternate opening of American Gangster. --Jcordell 04:41, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
A lot of people say that it's a Python, but you can't tell. I can't tell either, but I can see what I can see in the dark shot, and they are aspects of a Smith & Wesson. I'll post some pictures.
This one has been rotated so we can see the gun at a better angle. Our eyes can play tricks on us sometimes. We can see the front of the frame is at a 90 degree angle (straight downward)from the barrel until just about where they meet, where it bends. The Python's slants all the way without bending. The trigger guard is also bent at an angle upward on the bottom, rather than being straight all the way. The Rear sight has a flat post sticking out instead of flush, and the steel where the adjustment screw would be is a shorter length and higher than on the Colt, and the Front sight is raised higher than the top lug area. The grips stepping is covered in tape, so stepping can't be identified, but the shape of them look a lot more like a Smith's grip, as the front strap bends almost vertically down, and the back strap has a sharp bend on the frame before the contour starts, and then ends bending a bit more slightly outward, and ends sharply. The hammer shape is inconclusive.
This one shows light traveling through the top and back of the cylinder of the cylinder, as well as a few glints on the screws, near the front sight, and the bottom. No light is passing through any vent ribs. I double checked this with a flashlight, My Smith & Wesson Model 19 and my Airsoft Python, and the latter showed light passing through the ribs, so they don't match.
If you can get me screenshots of the gun falling where the vent ribs are visible, I might just concede, but I have too strong a case otherwise.
What's your opinion on the S&W Model 22, the 45 ACP revolver based on the old M1917. Other than it's nasty price tag ($1700, Jesus...for a revolver), it's a pretty sweet shooter, common relatively cheap ammo and its decently accurate. I borrowed a friend's at a range
Black Lagoon
I don't understand; why do you think that the Black Lagoon page shouldn't be divided up into sections by firearms? Considering how enormous that page has become, it seems like a good idea. Although it's not the norm on IMFDB, some people have tried it (myself included) for particularly huge pages, and I think it works better. Plus, considering Excal did so much work on the page, I think you at least owed it to him to discuss it first. -MT2008 02:54, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Reservoir Dogs
Ok, I don't know who you think you are, but you completely got rid of all my better screencaps from Reservoir Dogs with the crappy old ones. I'm really not sure why you did this (my shots were better and they were widescreen, which is preferred over full screen), but this better not happen again. Thank you. -Gunman69 07:44, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
-First of all, no need to be rude. While not the original author of the page, I was the one who initially revamped it, so I more or less claim it as my own work. I've had conflicts with consultation of "original" authors and now I like to see someone at least post on the forums when they are going to redo a page just so someone gets a chance to weigh whether or not the page should be changed.
Second, it's highly debatable whether or not your screencaps are "better". Mine are all .png files and while they take longer to load, they come out much clearer than .jpeg files so they are easier to see. Mine are also marginally bigger as well as clearer, so you can note certain features on the S&W second generation pistols (such as the barrel bushing) and distinguish them from third gens, which is very common for people to do when they watch Reservoir Dogs. It allows me to put my foot down and say "No, it's a second gen, here's my proof". Finally, they were all poorly trimmed and there is still some black border around all of them. Whether or nit Windscreen is preferred varies with the user, I just so happen to be on the side of full screen as the images are easier to crop.
I really appreciate you putting in the screen used guns, as I didn't know MPM had gotten pictures of them, but to go and redo all the screenshots, which were arguably worse than mine, was a bit much, and that is why I reverted it. I'll go on the forum and have everyone have their say on which is better.
- First, sorry if I came off as rude. It's just that I spent a lot of time revamping that page, and then seeing you reverting all of that was irritating. I'm saying mine were better because they were jpegs and not pngs, like yours. Also, if you look at the rules and regulations page on the site, you'll see that widescreen shots trump full screen (which is why I re-did it in the first place). I don't want this to turn into a huge issue on the forum about who's is better, so I would just ask two things of you. 1) if you could go back over the movie and replace the shots I additionally added with yours and 2) change all of your pngs to jpegs (they take forever to upload on my computer. These are the reasons why I changed your screencaps in the first place. If you do that, I will have no objection to having your screencaps there as opposed to mine. Thanks very much. -Gunman69 22:53, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Carlito's Way page
First off, great caps for the page! But remember you should upload your pics as JPG's instead of PNG's. PNG's take a long time to load into the page. You can use a image converter program to convert your current PNG's into JPG's. --Ben41 08:56, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Carlito's Way page
I'm not angry with you. You did a great job and replaced the screencaps with better quality images. What I sad that is not nice see your page completely changed without being noticed. But I know that your intentions were good. Charly Driver
RE: 1911 in COD4
Oh cool, thanks for the reply about the 1911 in COD4 being a SA Professional. I was wondering if you know what specific model Professional that the 1911 is, because I've Googled "Springfield Armory Professional 1911", and the image results all looked different from the one in-game. I'm also planning to purchase something like that in the future, but before that, I need to know what specific model it is (unless it is custom-made, so something. I'm not quite sure how SA works). Thanks, --User:Blemo/Sig
