The AK-47 is a common weapon seen used by several NVA troops and several camp guards. The AK-47 was widely used by the Communist manufactured by the Soviet Union and distributed to Vietnam. The NVA liked the AK-47 because the AK-47 was one of the first true assault rifles and, due to its durability, low production cost and ease of use, the weapon and its numerous variants remain the most widely used assault rifles in the world — so much so that more AK-type rifles have been produced than all other assault rifles combined.
The NVA in the watchtowers use Russian Mosin Nagants.

Norinco Type 56
Several NVA who escort prisoners are armed with Norinco Type 56s.
The NVA who executes the Communist lady is armed with an RPD light machine gun with the bipod removed. A goof is that the RPD changes into an RPK in the next shot.
Due to continuity errors, the RPD switches to an RPK when the camera gets close to the old woman's face.
