Kit's gun isn't a smith. I don't know the exact name of the company, but it's built on the same style of frame/trigger/hammer/grip as a Hi-standard sentinel 22, but it's in 38 caliber. They were sold at sears, ace hardware, and had several different names. They came with darker grips, and this style which was a bit more orange. The trigger well is a giveaway, the way the frame curves under the barrel, and also the bright steel hammer and trigger combo.
