Metro 2033
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following weapons appear in the video game Metro 2033:
P90 based AK variation
FN P90( Civilian "greenish" version of P90 ) Can be clearly spotted on one of game wallpapers. Gameplay footage shows this is an actual P90 but with Civilian olive drab paint job and Triple rail system. is almost identical to the AK but this one cam be found with a Suppressors.
In the game's manual, it's called the new version of the AK-47. Not found until the last half of the game. Interesting note : In Czech version of game , its called "Kalach 2012" "Kalach" Stands for "AK"
Revolver
An unknown sort of Revolver, reminiscent of a Magnum revolver. It is the first weapon you acquire apart from the knife. Can be found in several variations: Normal, extended barrel, extended barrel and stock, extended barrel with stock and silencer and finally extended barrel, scope, silencer and stock.
It's a .44, you can see it on the symbol of the ammo you collect for it.
DShk Heavy Machine Gun
DShK Seen mounted or at gun stores. Mounted versions cannot be reloaded. Also has an overheat gauge.
AK-74M
Despite being a common weapon in Real life, the AK-74 is actually one of the rarer guns available in-game and fetches a high price at markets. It can be purchased with/without a Scope. Has woodland green color scheme and orange see-thru magazine. Can use Military Grade ammo which acts as currency ingame.
VSV Rifle (VSK-94)
A VSK-94 suppressed rifle is used as the Silent killer and closesly resembles the weapon itself. It is renamed the VSV rifle and is capable of automatic fire. Can be purchased with or without a scope. A laser sight is fitted under the barrel as well. Has a transparent magazine much like the AK74M. Can use Military Grade ammo which acts as currency ingame.
Pneumatic Rifle" Tihar "
A home-made pneumatic rifle firing ball bearings, the number of "pumps" dictates the power of each shot, more pressure equals more power and more range. However, if the player waits too long, the pressure will leak out and the gun will go back to its normal setting. Named " Tihar " ingame .
Pneumatic Crossbow "Hellsing"
A pneumatic crossbow firing large crossbow bolts. Like the pneumatic rifle, the higher the pressure the greater damage and range is done. It seems it can be upgraded to carry 6 barrels in a makeshift revolver fashion.
"Duplet"
A home made double barrel shotgun. The left and right triggers (X360)operate each barrel and vice versa for Left Mouse and Right mouse buttons. Nicknamed the "Duplet". VERY slow reload time, player is extremely vunerable during this period.
"Uboyneg"
A semi-automatic shotgun with a revolving cylinder. Nicknamed the Uboyneg. Can be purchased with bayonet.Holds six rounds. Is only weapon that has melee as secodnary attack.
Heavy Automatic Shotgun
A heavy automatic shotgun reminiscent of a PKM modified to fire shotgun shells. Sold only with the limited edition copies of the game and as a pre-order bonus when ordered from gamestop.
"The Bastard"
Modelled after the Sten, a side-loading SMG with a clear box type magazine. You recieve this at your home station armory. Has a high rate of fire. Must be fired in short bursts otherwise accuracy goes out the window. Can be purchased with a silencer. Uses Military Grade ammo.
They call it an SMG in the game, but it fires 5.45x39 so it is an Assault Rifle.
It is referred to as "the bastard" -- which in Russian would be pronounced Ublyudok -- because it's "not very accurate, and overheats like hell", but maybe this was translated wrong; because it seems it would be called that on account of being an "SMG-assault rifle hybrid", so to speak.
Interesting note: When in idle with this weapon equipped, the player character will play with a wingnut on the left hand side of the gun which will come off. The player raises the weapon to assess the damage then slips the wingnut back on.
The magazine: Appears to be a feed strip (or clip) that the action pulls through the receiver (like a Hotchkiss M1914). Unlike most mags, it lacks a spring that would feed rounds into the chamber.
Pipebomb
Pipe Bombs are the games resident grenades. They are fused based. When lit and thrown, enemies can hear them coming and get out of the way. This works both ways as well. A Nail bomb can be found and is stored in a different slot in your inventory. These can be thrown against surfaces which will stick to them.
