Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following weapons appear in the video game Rainbow Six: Vegas 2:
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS appears in the game as the "92FS", and can be modified with silencer, laser and high capacity magazines like the other pistols. It can be seen as the sidearm used by the LVPD SWAT officers and terrorists in game. Interestingly, the in-game 92FS has a skeleton hammer as opposed to the standard ring hammer. Also note that in all of the screencaps below, the safety switch is on. Oops.
Has anyone else noticed when you hold the 92FS in first person the player is using an unusually low grip? about 1/4 of the backstrap is visible
Heckler & Koch USP
The Heckler & Koch USP appears in the game as the .40 caliber variant "USP 40.", and can be modified with silencer, laser and high capacity magazines like the other pistols. It is used by some of the Rainbow operatives.
IMI Desert Eagle XIX
The Desert Eagle appears in the game, it can be modified with laser and high capacity magazines, but not a silencer. It is the side arm of some terrorists in game.
Taurus Raging Bull
The Taurus Raging Bull revolver appears in the game, it can only be modified with a laser. It is used as a sidearm by some of the terrorists in game. The one used in the game is chambered for .44 magnum, as that is the only caliber that has a 6 round capacity.
Heckler & Koch Mk 23 Mod 0
The Heckler & Koch Mk 23 Mod 0 appears in the game, and can be modified like all the pistols. It is the most popular pistol on online servers. In game it is the standard sidearm used by the Rainbow team.
Glock 18
The Glock 18 appears in the game and can be modified with a laser pointer and high capacity magazines. It is used by a sidearm by some terrorists. It features a full-auto fire mode unique among the pistols of the game. Standard magazine is 10 rounds though using the extended magazine attachment gives it the correct factory magazine with 17 bullets, the largest magazine capacity of the Glocks are 33 rounds. The real world model used for the gun in the game is a KWA airsoft g18c, evidence by the built in compensator on the top (only seen in the airsoft gun) and the lack of engravings. An interesting note about this gun is that when it is fired the breach is never opened, rather the integrated compensator open up and releases the spent shell/s (this is of course not the case with the real weapon.)
Walther P99
The Walther P99 appears in the game (as the version chambered for the .40 S&W cartridge), and can be modified like all the pistols. It is (quite rarely) seen in terrorist hands.
Wow, that's some horrible imaging there. It's like they didn't even try to model the P99. --Clutch 02:15, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Heckler & Koch MP5A5/MP5N
The Heckler & Koch MP5A5 is in the game as the "MP5N" cosign used by the United States Navy and the SEALs and is modifiable like all weapons in the game. It is used by Rainbow (especially Bishop and Logan), LVPD SWAT, and by the terrorists. The In-game model is of the MP5N, meaning that the 3 round burst setting is absent from the left side of the gun making it appear as the navy model, but it has a three-round burst setting in the gun's silencer/fire mode menu, making it an MP5A5.
Ingram MAC-11
The Ingram MAC-11, referred to as the "M11" is in the game and like the other weapons, it can be modified. It is often seen in terrorist hands. One note of interest is that it's modeled after the semi-auto civilian legal M11 that is modified to full auto. Its closed bolt is the telltale sign. Has an extremely high rate of fire.
Fabrique Nationale P90
The FN P90 is in the game, it can be modified with everything except the extended magazine. Occasionally terrorists will be equipped with this weapon.
Heckler & Koch MP7A1
The Heckler & Koch MP7A1 is in the game, it can be modified with everything except the extended magazine. The MP7A1 is used with a suppressor by several Rainbow operatives; it is the secondary weapon for Jung Park when he isn't using a G36C and for Michael Walters when he isn't using a Mk. 46 machine gun.
Heckler & Koch UMP
The Heckler & Koch UMP is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It is often used by terrorists later in game.

SA Vz.83 Skorpion

SIG SG 552
The SIG SG 552 appears in the game as the "552 Commando" and can be modified with everything. It is one of the assault rifles used by the Rainbow team (it is the preferred rifle of both Logan and Chavez) and is also sometimes used by terrorists.
Unknown AK Variant
This weapon claims to be an AK-47 in-game, but it doesn't use the more curved 7.62x39 magazines that a real AK-47 would. It has the same statistics as the AKS-74U, which would appear to support the hypothesis that it uses 5.45x39mm rounds. The alleged AK-47 is a very common terrorist weapon in game, it can be modified with a lasersight, ACOG, holographic sight, and 3X Scope. The jury is still out on what this gun actually is. Post on the discussion page if you have any idea.
Kalashnikov AKS-74U
The AKS-74U is present in game and can be modified with a lasersight, ACOG, holographic sight, and 3X Scope. It can be seen in terrorist hands in game.
It is shown to take the same magazines as the AK-47. This may therefore be a mislabled AKMSU. Note: The handguard is wrong for the russian AKSU in game, it's not supposed to have a handguard like that of the AK47.
Fabrique Nationale FNC 80
The FN FNC is one of the assault rifles in the game, and can be equipped with all addons. It is sometimes used by Rainbow operatives and is very often used by the terrorists.
Steyr AUG A3
The Steyr AUG A3 is in the game as the "AUG A3" and can be modified with everything. It is occasionally used by the terrorists.
GIAT FAMAS F1

Heckler & Koch G36C
The Heckler & Koch G36C is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It is teammate Jung Park's primary weapon. It appears to be fed from G36K Style magazines.
Or SIG 552 mags. --FirearmFanatic 13:19, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Heckler & Koch G3KA4
The Heckler & Koch G3KA4 is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It is occasionally used by terrorists. There are some inaccuracies in that it uses 30 round mags but the size indicates the use of a 20 round.
IMI Tavor TAR-21
The Tavor TAR-21 is in the game and can be modified with everything. It is very popular on online servers due to their high rate of fire. Players who have taken a liking to the Tavor have often been called "TARDs". It is sometimes used by Rainbow operatives and is quite common in terrorist use.
Strangely, you cannot use it without the MARS sight. It has no iron sights in the first game either. An upside to this is that you can use the extended mag while having the MARS sight as well.
-FirearmFanatic
Heckler & Koch XM8
The Heckler & Koch XM8 is in the game as the "M8", it can be modified with everything. It is obtained late in the game, and is never used by terrorists or Rainbow. It is seen as having an accessory rail that extends to the end of the carrying handle.
The version in game looks like the Xm8r, a version of the Xm8 built to use standard 20mm rail systems. ~Theonemoo

Fabrique Nationale SCAR-H
The FN SCAR-H is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It is extensively used by Rainbow and is often seen in terrorist use. It is Gabriel Nowak's weapon of choice along with his MP5A3/MP5N in the earlier missions prior to the events in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.
Enfield L85A2
The SA80 can be seen in game referred to by the British military designation L85A2, and can be equipped with everything. A Rainbow operative can be seen using this rifle in one of the game's levels. Er... Where? not in the PC version.
Barret M468
The Barrett M468 appears in game. As opposed to the belief of those who haven't played it, it IS the M468. It is an unlockable weapon, and can be seen used by Rainbow operatives (it is Bishop's preferred rifle) and terrorists (occasionally) in game.
Or if you're stupid, you can call me a fanny bandit. -FirearmFanatic
Wow, that's mature. --FirearmFanatic 13:22, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

It appears in only pump-action operation when the actual gun has semi-auto operation. A lot of games do this to the Spas 12.--FirearmFanatic 13:23, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
M26 Modular Acessory Shotgun System
The stand-alone version of the M26 Modular Acessory Shotgun System appears in the game, it can be modified with lasersights, Rifle scope and Reflex sights. Puzzlingly, the M26 in the game is select-fire, while the real one is a straight-pull bolt action.
M40A1 Sniper Rifle
The M40 sniper rifle appears in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with bigger scopes.
Izhmash SV-98
The SV-98 appears in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with a 12x Scope. It is often used by terrorist snipers in game.
Steyr Scout Tactical
The Steyr Scout appears in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with a 12x Scope. A few of the terrorist snipers use this rifle.
Strangely, in this game when you pick up this gun, the barrel is exposed on top, which on the steyr scout it is not. In the Outfitting menu, it is the scout tactical and the picture is a Steyr.
Heckler & Koch PSG-1
The Heckler & Koch PSG-1 is in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with a 12x Scope. The PSG-1 is the standard Rainbow sniper rifle.

The SR-25 is a upscaled version of the M16, it is not an AR-10 as popularly believed, both the lower and upper receiver are completely different to that of an AR-10. the SR-25 is a STONER RIFLE (25), by Eugene Stoner from KAC, (Knights Armament Corporation). Armalite holds the patents to the name and design of "AR-10". It can be seen used by Rainbow operatives in game.
Fun fact: the designation 25 in Sr-25 is from adding Ar-10 and AR-15. -FirearmFanatic
Mk 46 Mod 0 Light Machine Gun
The Mk 46 Mod 0 is in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better stock. It is the squad support weapon of choice for Rainbow and is used by Michael Walters in Bishop's team.
Heckler & Koch HK21E
The Heckler & Koch HK21 machine gun is in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better buttstock. It is used by the terrorists often. Despite the appearance of a fire-selector switch and the appropriate markings, the HK21E is restricted to full-auto fire.
M249 SAW
The M249 SAW is in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better buttstock. Mostly found as fixed postion turrets throughout the game.
Heckler & Koch MG36
The Heckler & Koch MG36 is frequently used by enemies in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better buttstock. Despite being based on a regular G36 rifle, the MG36 is restricted to full-auto only, even though its counterpart in the Ghost Recon series allows for selection between semi, tri-burst, and full-auto fire.
The Scope on top of the weapon cannot be removed in real-life, and why in-game, does it reveal a picatinney rail underneath? - Camden

Game Trivia
- This is one of the few games where it depicts cartridges actually being pushed upwards [Or in the P90's case, backwards] as they are fired through clear magazines.
- When the Silencer is placed on it, it sounds like the MP5SD sound used in Bad Boys II
- The odd thing about the L85A2 in the game is when in its basic mode, with no attachments, the standard magazine capacity is 25 rounds instead of 30 round as it should be. One can get an "extended magazine" which increases the mag capacity to 35. Realistically, such a thing doesn't exist. And when equipped with a scope, you can't get a SUSAT, originally fitted to all models, now replaced by the ACOG.
- The L85A2 has the sound of the AK47 from the original Rainbow Six: Vegas, despite having two different cartridge types.
