Global Operations
Global Operations was an online first-person shooter developed by Barking Dog Studios in 2000. During development, the Vancouver-based dev team rented real firearms from the same Canadian movie armory that supplies to Stargate: SG1, The X-Files, and other productions filmed in Vancouver. The artists fired and took pictures of the guns that they rented, and used this source material to depict the firearms more realistically than any game which had been released up to that game. This is perhaps the first time any game development team rented firearms from a movie armory to model the game weapons.

SIG SG550
FN FAL
Olympic Arms M4
The M4 carbine in this game has an Olympic Arms pistol grip. The reason for this is that the Canadian armory which supplied weapons to the development team seems to use mostly Olympic Arms lower receivers for all of its AR-model rifles. The 3D artists would have photographed one of these guns to use for the textures on the in-game gun model.
SVD Dragunov
Heckler & Koch PSG-1
Remington 700
Accuracy International AW50
Daewoo K3 Paratrooper
In the game, this is supposed to be an M249, but the weapon model is clearly a Daewoo K3 Paratrooper, a Korean machine gun. The reason for this is that the Canadian armory which rented weapons to the development team only seems to have K3s in inventory, and not genuine M249s (see also Stargate: SG1 and 3000 Miles to Graceland, which use the same LMGs).
