Lawmen: Bass Reeves is a 2023 Western streaming series starring David Oyelowo as Bass Reeves, the first black U.S. Deputy Marshal in United States history west of the Mississippi River. Based on actual events, the series follows Reeves as an enslaved servant to a Confederate Cavalry Colonel during the American Civil War to his time apprehending outlaws for the U.S. Marshal Service in the Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma) during the time of the Wild West. The series is being executive produced by Oyelowo and Taylor Sheridan and the cast includes Dennis Quaid, Shea Whigham, Barry Pepper and Donald Sutherland. The series premiered on the streaming service Paramount+ on November 5, 2023.

The Colt 1851 Navy is used by Col. George Reeves CSA (Shea Whigham) and Major Esau Pierce CSA (Barry Pepper). Bass uses the revolver in "Part III" (S1E03).
In "Part III" (S1E03), Mabel Underwood (Paula Malcomson) is seen armed with a Remington 1875. This revolver also is seen in the hands of Billy Crow (Forest Goodluck).
Colt Single Action Army "Cavalry"
In "Part IV" (S1E04), Bass now carries the "Cavalry" model Single Action Army as his sidearm.

Double Barreled Percussion Shotgun
A Double-Barreled Percussion Shotgun is used by several characters in the series.
In "Part I" (S1E01), Col. George Reeves (Shea Whigham) pulls out a Henry 1860 and gives it to Bass to carry during a charge. Bass continues to use the rifle following the war.
