Two Arabian Knights is a 1927 American Adventure-Comedy movie directed by Lewis Milestone. 1918, the two Doughboys Phelps and Sergeant O'Gaffrey are captured by the Germans. Their attempts to escape are unsuccessful. Only when they disguise themselves as Arabs are they able to escape. They are to travel to Jaffa on a river steamer. With the ship's captain, the two soldiers vie for the favor of the Arab Mirza. In Jaffa, Mirza's fiancé Shevket is alerted by a servant to the two Americans, whom he is giving a hard time.

At the first Academy Awards in 1929, Lewis Milestone was awarded the Oscar for Best Director. Since only in 1929 was the Oscar for best director award in the two categories of drama and comedy (a division that was abolished a year later), Milestone is the only director ever to have received an Oscar in this category.
