The White Buffalo is a 1977 Western thriller movie directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Charles Bronson as Wild Bill Hickok. The movie is inspired by the famous Herman Melville's novel Moby-Dick. In Autumn 1874, Hickok is on the hunt for the mysterious white buffalo that roams the mountains of Colorado. He teams up with Sioux warrior, Crazy Horse, whose daughter was killed by the white beast.

Wild Bill Hickok (Charles Bronson) uses a pair of Single Action Army "Quickdraw" revolvers fitted with stag horn grips as his main sidearm. He carries them tucked in a red sash like the real Hickok did with his two Colt 1851 Navy six-shooters. In some scenes, they switch to visually modified Colt New Service revolvers (see below) with similar stag horn grips, likely because Bronson was unable to fire a single-action revolver quick enough to meet the script's requirements for those scenes. When Hickok is ambushed by several of Capt. Tom Custer's officers and NCOs in the saloon, two of them disarm Hickok and fire his revolvers.
When Wild Bill Hickok (Charles Bronson) is ambushed in the saloon in Cheyenne and disarmed, the bartender Paddy Welsh (Bert Williams) gives him the Colt 1878 Double Action revolver.
Chief Crazy Horse (Will Sampson) carries the Colt 1851 Navy revolver. In the climactic scene Wild Bill Hickok (Charles Bronson) takes the revolver from Crazy Horse. During the shootout in Frozen Dog saloon Kid Jelly (David Roya), one of Whistling Jack Kileen's men, is probably armed with the Colt Navy as he refers about his revolver as .36 caliber. The revolver itself isn't seen as Kid Jelly has no chance to draw the gun quicker than Hickok.
Several of Capt. Tom Caster's officers and NCOs are armed with Remington 1875 revolvers. A Remington 1875 is also seen during the shootout in Frozen Dog saloon.
When Wild Bill Hickok (Charles Bronson) goes after the white buffalo, he is armed with the Sharps 1874 Buffalo rifle. During the encounter with Crow warriors, he trades Charlie Zane's (Jack Warden) Winchester 1866 "Yellow Boy" for his long rifle. Charlie also uses Hickok's Sharps during the shootout with Whistling Jack Kileen's gang. Gyp Hook-Hand (Scott Walker) is also armed with the Sharps.
Remington Rolling Block rifles are used by Whistling Jack Kileen (Clint Walker) and his henchman Ben Corbett (Ed Bakey). Some of Fetterman townspersons also carry Remington Rolling Block rifles.
