The Interceptor (Zapreshchyonnaya Realnost) (Russian Title: Запрещенная Реальность) is a 2009 Russian science-fiction action movie directed by Konstantin Maximov, based on the novel Smersh-2 by Vasiliy Golovachev. Special-service agents Matvey Sobolev (Igor Petrenko) and Georgiy Kurylo (Aleksandr Baluev) were best friends in the past. Now they are sworn enemies. Georgiy Kurylo heads a powerful organization, which aims to seize power in Russia. This organization utilizes the newest models of psychotronic weapons to control minds. Meanwhile, powerful forces from parallel universes are drawn into the fight for the human world.

PDT-9T Esaul

Many of Kurylo's guards and his special forces fighters are armed with a customized PDT-9T Esaul in different configurations. This is semi-auto only version of the Kedr PP-91 submachine gun chambered for 9mm P.A. rubber less-lethal ammunition. Russian filmmakers sometimes use modified versions of this weapon to portray various fictional submachine guns.
