The revolver doesn't look big enough for an N-frame, particularly if you compare the cylinder size in relation to the trigger/trigger guard between the movie gun and the 629. I think this is actually a Model 686. StanTheMan (talk) 02:30, 18 January 2017 (EST)

I considered that until I looked at the end of the under-lug on the 629 compared to the 686. I agree that the frame didn't appear large enough, but I thought that maybe the actor just has large hands. I've never seen a 686 with that style of patridge front sight. The 686/586 that I've seen in the past had a patridge front sight that can be adjusted. However I did another search and guess what. In 1993/94 the S&W Performance Center put together what they call a 686 Super Target Champion. So yes it is a 686 of a relatively rare pedigree. It seems that many were sent to Europe and Germany in particular. Changes will be made. --Jcordell (talk) 14:00, 18 January 2017 (EST)
