Welcome to IMFDB

Before you do any editing please take the time to read the Rules, Standards and Principles. This is a very important document that explains how this website is setup as well as telling you what is and isn't allowed. If it is determined by an admin that you have not read these rules, your account will be suspended. Continued non-compliance may result in a permanent ban.

There are a number of pages that desperately need your help. You can find these Incomplete pages here.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here but make sure to sign your post by typing --~~~~.

Finally, IMFDB has a forum set up here that is only available to registered members. There is lots of good stuff to see there. Please register yourself an account using the same username you used to register here.

Now, HAPPY EDITING! Zackmann08 (talk) 14:55, 8 September 2012 (EDT)

Adding screenshots

It appears that you are trying to add a screenshot to the Hawaii Five-0 page. A couple of things to remember:

1. Make sure your filenames are distinct. When adding a screenshot for tv series, it's best to add the season and episode number in the filename such as for H50 S3E15 S&W 3913 would stand for Hawaii Five 0, Season 3 Episode 15.

2. Please crop black bars off your screenshots before uploading. Fast Stone Image Viewer is good for this.

3. When adding a screenshot to the page, you need to post it with his code: [[Filename.jpg|thumb|none|500px|]]

The Rules, Standards and Principles would also be beneficial for you to look over. Thanks --Ben41 (talk) 22:11, 2 April 2013 (EDT)

The IMFDB Style Guide also covers a lot of guidelines for new users. --Funkychinaman (talk) 23:10, 2 April 2013 (EDT)

One more thing: Please try to find higher quality sources for your screenshots, preferably HD. If this is not possible, you can make suggestions in the discussion section about what weapons are missing and I can try to find the proper screenshots. --Ben41 (talk) 22:51, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

Capturing Screenshots

How are you capturing your screenshots? They don't seem to be coming out in an optimal resolution. The IMFDB Screencapping Guide is helpful to capture good quality images. --Ben41 (talk) 03:22, 13 January 2014 (EST)

Chicago PD

You initially tried to create a page for Chicago P.D., but you didn't have any information or screenshots ready. It was subsequently deleted because of a perceived lack of effort. I've redone the page to display how a page should look when started. In the future, if you start a page, please refer to that page as an example of how to start it off. --Ben41 (talk) 20:50, 3 March 2014 (EST)

File names

Please avoid uploading files with generic file. If you're uploading files for Hawaii Five-0, for example, you can name them "H50_0310_Glock_01.jpg" or something. --Funkychinaman (talk) 01:29, 12 May 2014 (EDT)

I noticed you uploaded a bunch of screencaps for Bad Boys, but they're all BdBysXX, with no indication of the firearm. You should have the weapon name fully or at least partially as part of the filename, like BdBys-SIGSauerP226-01, or even BdBys-P226-01 or something. Just BdBys01, etc, without an indicator of the weapon can be confusing. FCM has of course mentioned this above but I just wanted to remind you, hopefully before it becomes an issue. Eraser / Glock / Heritage Auction

First, nice find on the Heritage Auction House listing for Arnie's Glock 21 from Eraser, and sorry that I rolled back your edits by mistake. I'm actually going through the site looking at some of their other previous listings for other prop guns that they've auctioned (I've already downloaded a bunch of pics that I plan to start uploading). It's a surprising treasure trove of information.

A few thoughts/suggestions:

*I'm actually not sure that the Glock that Arnie uses in the warehouse shootout (the one he takes from one of the rogue U.S. Marshals) is another G21. I say this because the slide doesn't appear to be wider than the frame, which is another telltale sign of a G21 vs. a smaller-caliber Glock. The gun itself looks smaller in his hand, too. It might actually be a G17.
*We should probably post the other picture of the G21 from the auction listing - I tend to like it because it shows the filed-down barrel top, which proves that it is a blank-adapted movie gun.
*I see that Heritage Auction has also auctioned some of the other guns used in the movie, too - one of the hero EM-1 Rail Gun props, the Desert Eagle Mark XIX, and the Investarm over-under shotgun. Do you plan to add those to the page, too? If not, I can.
