Doughboys

Doughboys is a 1930 comedy movie directed by Edward Sedgwick. The young privileged Elmer is looking for a job in an employment office in order to impress his beloved. Unfortunately, the supposed job center is an army recruiting office. Before he knows it, Elmer is in uniform and under the command of the choleric Sergeant Brophy.

Pistols
Colt M1911
Captain Scott (Frank Mayo) Lieutenant Randolph (William Steele), and Sergeant Brophy (Edward Brophy) have Colt M1911 pistols as their duty sidearms. Elmer J. Stuyvesant Jr. (Buster Keaton) carries a holstered Colt.
Luger P08
Elmer takes a Luger P08 pistol from the German soldiers as a souvenir. This pistol is also briefly held by Captain Scott.
Rifles
Springfield M1903
U.S. soldiers including Elmer J. Stuyvesant Jr. and Nescopeck (Cliff Edwards) are armed with M1903 Springfield rifles. Sergeant Brophy also wields a Springfield rifle during the bayonet drill. Gustave (Arnold Korff) briefly holds Elmer's rifle two times.
Mauser Gewehr 1898
German soldiers are armed with Gewehr 1898 rifles.
Machine Guns
Vickers Mk. I
British Vickers guns are used by U.S. soldiers.
Maxim MG 08/15
Maxim MG08/15 machine guns are seen in the German trench. At the end of the movie, Elmer is seen setting up one of them.
Hand Grenades
Model 16 Stielhandgranate
In the German trench, several Model 16 Stielhandgranates are seen lying around. Mary (Sally Eilers) and Elmer can be seen using them.
Unknown Grenades
U.S. soldiers can be seen throwing unknown grenades.
