Breakdown is a 1997 thriller starring Kurt Russell as Jeff, a mild-mannered husband who finds himself in the middle of the Arizona desert in search of his wife, who disappears after accepting a ride from a stranger after their car breaks down. The film was written and directed by Jonathan Mostow, who went on to direct U-571 and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
The following weapons were used in the film Breakdown:
The Beretta 92FS is held by Earl (M.C. Gainey) when questioning Jeff Taylor (Kurt Russell). Taylor himself also uses this gun for a good part of the film. A Beretta is also used by Al (Ritch Brinkley) during the chase.
SIG-Sauer P226
When Jeff (Kurt Russell) goes to the home of Red (J.T. Walsh), he finds a SIG-Sauer P226 in a glove compartment, which he later uses to threaten Red. It's also seen in the hands of Billy (Jack Noseworthy) earlier in the film.
At the diner, the manager briefly pulls a nickel-plated Colt Single Action Army revolver on Jeff after he forcibly demands that he be allowed to review customer receipts. While the gun is only ever seen clearly from behind and the barrel length is difficult to gauge, it appears to be the Artillery model of the Single Action Army.
Mossberg 500 "Cruiser"
Earl (M.C. Gainey) is also seen holding a Mossberg 500 Cruiser shotgun w/Pachmayr Vindicator grip and forend kit, as Jeff is questioned by Red. Billy (Jack Noseworthy) uses the same shotgun near the climax.
Winchester 1873
The Winchester Model 1873 is used by Red's son when Jeff threatens the family in the kitchen. Jeff himself later takes but does not use the rifle.
Ruger Mini-14
During the confrontation at the creek, Earl (M.C. Gainey) fires at Jeff Taylor with a scoped Ruger Mini-14.
