R wz. 42 "Sidolówka" fragmentation high-explosive hand grenade

The R wz. 42 "Sidolówka" was a fragmentation type high explosive hand grenade first produced in Warsaw 1942. The name Sidolówka came from Sidol, which was a metal cleaning agent produced by the company Henkel. The bottles of Sidol were used as casings for the grenades; this helped to disguise it. Around 350,000 pieces were made, all of them in underground factories, and a lot of them were used by the Polish Resistance fighters during the Warsaw Uprising.
