In the movie Doyle uses this firearm to pick off infected from a rooftop, he abandons the rifle and switches to his M4 when he moves to ground level. The M21 is used by the military as a designated marksman's rifle. It is more powerful, has a longer range, and is more accurate then the standard M4/M16 rifle. The M21 typically sports a high power teloscopic scope and also has a bipod to steady it for more accurate shooting.
