Frühwirth M1872 Gendarmerie Carbine - 11.15x36Rmm

Frühwirth Model 1872 (Gendarmerie-Repetiergewehr System Frühwirth M1872) is an Austro-Hungarian bolt action magazine short rifle designed by Ferdinand Früwirth. During the trials, the gun was considered too fragile for the troops but well fitting for gendarmerie and border guards. About 12,000 carbines of two variants were manufactured by Früwirth's workshop and Osterreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft, Steyr.

Two variants of the Früwirth carbine differ in the ammunition - 11.15x36R mm and 11.15x42R mm, and the action of the second type was lengthened by 6mm for the longer cartridge.
