Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979)

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was a 1979 seven-part drama spy miniseries originally produced for the BBC. Directed by John Irvin and produced by Jonathan Powell, the television miniseries was an adaptation of the 1974 novel of the same name by John le Carré. The cast included Alec Guinness, Michael Jayston, Anthony Bate and George Sewell. The miniseries was originally broadcast in the United Kingdom on September 10, 1979 and in the United States over a year later on September 29, 1980. A feature film adaptation starring Gary Oldman was released in 2011.

Jim Prideaux (Ian Bannen) retrieves a Czech CZ 50 hidden inside a toy gun carton at a toy shop in Czechoslovakia, he goes to a restroom were he wraps a rubber band around its grip and checks it out. Later, while at the remote cabin where he's supposed to meet with a defecting Czech general, he suspects something is wrong and uses it to threaten the driver and to make him put on his coat and walk up to the cabin in his place.
