Mutiny (Myatezh) is a 1929 (filmed 1928) Soviet B&W silent war movie directed by Semyon Timoshenko and based on the same title story by Dmitriy Furmanov. In 1920, during the Russian Civil War, a Red Army battalion, stationed in the fortress of Verniy (modern Almaty, Kazakhstan), receives an order to march to front, but the battalion commander incites his men to mutiny against the Bolsheviks. A group of Bolsheviks under the leadership of commissar Furmanov, have to withstand the mutineers until the Red cavalry comes on rescue.
The following weapons were used in the film Mutiny (Myatezh):
Most Bolsheviks, including Dmitriy Furmanov (Anatoliy Alekseev (II)), Vinchetsky (Valeri Solovtsov), and Semenchuk (Pyotr Kuznetsov), as well as the leaders of the mutiny Karavayev (Boris Babochkin) and Cheusov (Apollon Verin), are armed with Nagant M1895 revolvers.
Mauser C96
One of the Bolsheviks, Kolyshev (Nikolay Pavlov), is armed with a Mauser C96 pistol.
Unidentified pistol
Furmanov's wife Naya Furmanova (Tatyana Guretskaya) holds an unidentified pistol that is seen only in distance. Possibly this pistol is chambered in 6.35mm Browning caliber as such cartridge is seen when the Bolsheviks distribute their last ammunition.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891
The mutineers and the loyal Red Army men are armed with Mosin Nagant M1891 rifles, mostly of Infantry model although some Dragoon rifles can be seen.
Machine Guns
Maxim M1910
Maxim M1910 machine guns are used by both mutineers and Bolshevisks who organize defense in the headquarters building.
Lewis (?)
What is supposed to be a Lewis machine gun is seen in hands of a Red Army man during the battle on the Soviet-Polish front.
Other Weapons
RG-14 Hand Grenade
Karavayev (Boris Babochkin) carries an RG-14 hand grenade. Some Red Army men also carry grenades.
Trivia
Cartridges
When the Bolsheviks prepare for the last stand, Vinchetsky holds four remainig cartridges on his palm. Two of them are Nagant, one is a 7.63mm Mauser and the fourth one is supposed to be a 6.35mm Browning, probably for Naya Furmanova's pistol.
Artillery
The mutineers have two artillery pieces: a 3-inch M1902 field gun and a 3-inch M1909 mountain gun (the latter isn't used in action).
