Naked Among Wolves is a 2015 television movie directed by Philipp Kadelbach (Our Mothers, Our Fathers). In March 1945, a three-year-old Jewish child is smuggled into Buchenwald concentration camp. From then on, a resistance movement led by André Höfel makes it its mission to protect the boy from the Nazis at all costs. While the guards comb through the concentration camp and do not shy away from increasingly brutal attacks, the prisoners, some of whom participate only reluctantly, others with the greatest misgivings, hide the toddler in various places within the camp, exposing themselves to great risk. But in doing so, they gain hope that their imprisonment in hell on earth will at least bring something.
It is based on the novel of the same name by Bruno Apitz, which was published by Mitteldeutscher Verlag in 1958. After a television production in 1960 and the film adaptation by Frank Beyer in 1963, it is the third film implementation of the literary original.
The following weapons were used in the film Naked Among Wolves:
Many Walther P38 pistols are hidden and used by the KZ prisoners. Hans Bochow (Thorsten Merten) is briefly seen handing one of them to Heinrich Schüpp (Ulrich Brandhoff). SS member Mandrill (Torsten Ranft) fires his P38 several times.
SS-Hauptscharführer (Sergeant 1st Class) Gotthold Zweiling (Matthias Bundschuh) and Marian Kropinski (Rafael Stachowiak) are armed with CZ 27s. The CZ 27 is the most used pistol in the movie seen in the hands of SS officers and KZ prisoners.
The majority of SS soldiers and guards including Johann Müller (Leonard Carow) have Karabiner 98ks which are also smuggled into the camp by the prisoners for an uprising. Some Kar98ks have Czech-made large trigger guards.
