Dersu Uzala (rus. Дерсу Узала; jap. デルス・ウザーラ) is a 1975 Soviet-Japanese film, directed by Akira Kurosawa . It is based on memoirs of Vladimir Arsenyev, the Russian explorer of the Far East. Dersu Uzala, the native hunter and pathfinder, was a guide for Arsenyev's expeditions in 1902-1907, and they became close friends.

Winchester Model 1895 Carbine In the final scene Arsenyev gifts a Winchester Model 1895 Carbine to Dersu Uzala. The rifle is fitted with a fake underbarrel magazine, to make it look like as a Winchester Model 1892 /Model 1894 . This is presumably the same rifle, which earlier appears in the Businessmen (Delovye lyudi)
