The Lone Ranger (2013)
|
The Lone Ranger is a 2013 fantasy Western that is a new telling of the Lone Ranger legend popularized in radio and film in addition to the popular 1950's television series. Despite the title, this film has an emphasis on the Lone Ranger's sidekick Tonto (portrayed by Johnny Depp). The film was directed by Gore Verbinski (who directed Depp in the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films) and co-stars Armie Hammer as the title character.

Handguns
Single Action Army
As with many Westerns, the Single Action Army is the most commonly seen gun in the film. Several SAAs of varying models are seen.
Single Action Army 'Quick-Draw' (4.75" barrel)
The Quick-Draw Model of the Single Action Army is also used by several characters in the film. Most notably, Latham Cole.
Single Action Army Artillery Model (5.5" barrel)
The primary firearm carried by The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) is a pair of nickel-plated Single Action Army 'Artillery' model chambered in .45 Long Colt, which is anachronistic of the film's setting (1869). Several other characters of the film also carry standard SAA Army Revolvers in the film.
Single Action Army 'Cavalry' (7.5" barrel)
The Cavalry Model of the Single Action Army also is seen in the hands of Tonto, Butch Cavendish, and Captain Jay Fuller. And John Reid briefly uses one when he confronts Latham Cole in the train.
Colt 1849 Pocket
In the flashback at the Silver mine, a younger Lathem Cole is loading a Colt 1849 Pocket.
Colt 1860 (Richards Transitional Conversion)
At one point, John Reid (Armie Hammer) draws what appears to be a Richards Transitional cartridge conversion of a Colt 1860 revolver and holds it on Tonto (Johnny Depp). The lack of a rear sight on the breech ring combined with the Colt 1860 barrel means this is likely a Richards Transitional model (also called the Richards Type II), although it could be an early model Richards-Mason conversion (when they still used the barrels from Colt 1860 percussion revolvers).
Remington 1875
A nickel-plated Remington 1875 is seen in the hands of John Reid (Armie Hammer) when he and Tonto are at Rebbeca's house.
Smith & Wesson New Model No.3
A Smith & Wesson New Model No.3 is seen hidden in the floorboards of a train car and later used by Butch and then by John. Jesús (Joaquín Cosío) also uses a Smith & Wesson New Model No.3 revolver as his primary weapon.
W. W. Marston Three-Barrel Derringer
Red Harrington (Helena Bonham Carter) pulls a W. W. Marston Three-Barrel Derringer on Tonto and John Reid.
Shotguns
12 Gauge Double-Barreled Shotgun
The 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun is used by several characters in the film including Rebecca Reid (Ruth Wilson).
Prosthetic Leg Double-Barreled Shotgun
Red Harrington (Helena Bonham Carter) has a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun hidden inside her prosthetic leg.
Rifles
Springfield Model 1873 Cavalry Carbine
The main weapon of the cavalry is the Springfield Model 1873 Cavalry Carbine.
Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy"
The Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy" is seen fired at one point.
Winchester 1873
