Inspector Morse is a British detective drama TV series based on novels by Colin Dexter and starring John Thaw as DCI Morse and Kevin Whately as DS Lewis. Stories are mostly set in Oxford, often connected with the University of Oxford.
Series have two spin-offs: Lewis Kevin Whately ), and Endeavour Shaun Evans ) and set in 1960s.

Pathologist identified the bullet as .32 caliber, and DS Lewis claims that suppressed pistol in .32 caliber must be a Welrod Pistol , that Lewis had seen in local war museum. The screen gun is seen only partially but what is seen matches Welrod Mark II . It's worth noting that in the assassination scene the gun is shown firing too fast for real bolt-action Welrod: after two initial shots that are separated by a period of time, three or four more shots follow in semi-auto mode, one by one.

In "Twilight of the Gods" (S07E03) DS Lewis confiscates a Walther PPK from "Clergyman" Williams (Doug Bradley) when the latter is arrested.
