Code of Silence is a 1985 action film that starred Chuck Norris as a detective with the Chicago Police Department who finds himself in the middle of a drug war in the city. The film was the third feature film directed by Andrew Davis (Under Siege) and the cast included several former Chicago police officers including Dennis Farina.
The following weapons were used in the film Code of Silence:
The Colt Detective Special is the sidearm of several CPD officers in the film. When two thugs attempt to rob a cop bar, several off-duty officers pull their Colt DS revolvers.
When the thugs try to rob the bar, Det. Dorato (Dennis Farina) is seen pulling a 3” barrel revolver with adjustable sights. Because of the shape of the hammer, front of the frame and trigger guard it appears that it is an Astra 357, although it is never seen well enough to confirm this for sure.
Lt. Kobas (Joseph Kosala) carries an 8” barrel Smith & Wesson Model 29 with a nickel finish as his sidearm. Joseph Kosala was a Chicago PD officer at the time and served as a technical advisor for the film. Kosala would later appear in other films directed by Andrew Davis, including a role as one of the Chicago PD detectives who questions Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) at the beginning of The Fugitive (1993).
Det. Cragie (Ralph Foody) carries a Beretta Jetfire in an ankle holster. He puts it in the hand of an unarmed kid that he shot by mistake. At the end of the movie, he has replaced this one with a identical pistol.
A Mossberg 500AT shotgun fitted with a pistol grip and wood furniture is used by both Det. Dorato (Dennis Farina) and Sgt. Eddie Cusack (Chuck Norris). Cusack's Mossberg is used in the final warehouse shootout and is also fitted with a heavy choke. As the movie was filmed in Chicago around the same time, the firearm is likely the same shotgun used in the 1986 Schwarzenegger film Raw Deal.
One of Comacho's guards is seen on the rooftop armed with a Heckler & Koch HK94. Because the movie was filmed in Chicago around the same time, this is likely the same firearm seen in the 1986 Schwarzenegger film Raw Deal.
MAC-10's suppressed and unsuppressed are prominently used by the hitmen disguised as painters who take out several drug dealers in the opening shootout.
One of Camacho's men is seen armed with an M16 during the final shootout.
