The Beretta 92FS is widely seen with East Asian terrorists (The novel mentions that they're North Korean) disguised as Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces Fleet Traning Group (JMSDF FTG) sailors. Seaman (and also Defense Agency Intelligence Service agent) Kou Kisaragi (Ryo Katsuji) and Chief Petty Officer Hisashi Sengoku (Hiroyuki Sanada) seize them while fighting against the hijackers.
