Emerald City is a 2017 fantasy TV series, based on the Oz book series by L. Frank Baum. A modern retelling of The Wizard of Oz , the series follows a young woman named Dorothy Gale, who is whisked away to the fantastic land of Oz by a tornado. Joined by various companions, Dorothy embarks for the Emerald City to find the enigmatic Wizard of Oz and return home.
The show premiered on NBC on January 6, 2017 and concluded on March 3, 2017. NBC would later cancel the show after one season.
