SEAL Team Six: The Raid On Osama Bin Laden is a 2012 dramatization of the raid by US Navy SEALs on the Bin Laden compound in 2011. Unlike the similarly-themed Zero Dark Thirty, this film focuses primarily on the mission itself and its participants. Originally titled Code Name: Geronimo, the film was directed by John Stockwell and premiered in 2012 in the US on the National Geographic channel on November 4 and on Netflix on November 5.
The following weapons were used in the film SEAL Team Six: The Raid On Osama Bin Laden:
The majority of the US Navy SEALs seen in the film are armed with Heckler & Koch HK416 carbines, notably seen during training as well as the actual raid on the Bin Laden compound. The rifles are fitted with suppressors, EOTech sights and AN/PEQ-15 ATPIALs. Judging by the receiver markings, some of the HK416s used in the film are actually 416 uppers fitted to standard M4A1 lower receiver units. Among the SEALs who are seen using the HK416 include Cherry (Anson Mount), Stunner (Cam Gigandet), Mule (Xzibit) and the Lieutenant Commander (Robert Knepper).
AKM
A Taliban fighter inside bin Laden's compound can be seen firing what looks like an AKM right after the commencement of the raid.
AKMS
Bin Laden's son Khalid fires an AKMS at the Navy SEALS. In an alternate version of the film, an AKMS-type rifle is seen on an undercover video and is determined to be the same custom AK rifle that was once carried by bin Laden.
AKMSU
An AKMSU, distinguishable from the AKS-74U by its ribbed 7.62x39mm magazine, can be seen being loaded up for use by Osama bin Laden following the commencement of the raid. The weapon is apparently meant to stand in for the AKS-74U that Bin Laden frequently wielded in real-life propaganda videos filmed prior to the 9/11 attacks.
Norinco Type 56-1
Al Qaeda fighters can be seen in bin Laden's Pakistan compound carrying Norinco Type 56-1 rifles with underfolding stocks and Bakelite magazines. Taliban shooters in Afghanistan use the Type 56 in an ambush.
The SIG-Sauer P226 E2 is the sidearm carried by many of the SEALs in the film. During the preparation for the raid, one SEAL is seen checking his SIG, where the "E2" is readily visible on the slide.
Reck Miami 92F
One of the CIA agents watching bin Laden's compound wields what appears to be a Reck Miami 92F blank firing pistol with a chopped barrel similar to that of a Beretta 92FS Centurion. The revealed upper slide and the distinctive offset slide markings near the front of the slide shows that this is likely a Reck Miami 92F, rather than Beretta Cougar Inox as previously thought.
A FN MK 48 Mod 0 is fired by Mule (Xzibit) during the opening firefight with Taliban shooters.
M134 Minigun
An M134 Minigun is briefly seen during the intro sequence. It can be recognized as an M134 and not a USAF GAU-17/A by its flash-hider, which is not slotted.
M240D Machine Gun
Other Black Hawks are seen with M240D machine guns in helicopter door mounts.
M230 Chain Gun
AH-64 Apaches mounted with 30mm M230 Chain Guns are also seen in the film.
