I was in D.C. a couple years after 9/11, and on the Mall, there was a massive array of military technology, vehicles, weaponry and other exhibits. Displayed on three tables were vast numbers of firearms. The main weapons i remember are MP5's, an MP5K, AK 47's, several AR-Variants, and Uzi's. People were free to pick up and handle the guns, but they had cable running through the trigger guards, preventing and five finger discounts, and soldiers were based throughout the tents.

I am very liberal in many of my views, both politically and ethically, but i have still am a hoplophiliac. I do not think that guns should be banned, but i believe that more restrictions and safety measures be put on acquiring firearms. I think that it should just as difficult to obtain a light fifty as it is to acquire any Class III. Too many firearms are falling into the wrong hands. The process of purchasing a Can should be very complex, as I do not see the need for any civilian to require a suppressor.

My personal favorite firearms are the: M14, PKM, SVD Dragunov, Ruger MP9, Sig 552,
AK 74, the Romanian AIM, any Glock other than the G34, Para-Ordinance Warthog, H&K MP5K,
all of the H&K USP Variants, MG 42, PPS 43, Remington 870's and 1100's, Mosin Nagant 1891/30,
AKS 74u, H&K G36K and MG36 but I do not like the G36C as it is overused, IMI Micro Uzi,
FN M3M upgrade of the Browning M2, most Snubbies, H&K G3 series including PSG 1,
Over-Under Shotguns, Franchi SPAS-12, both Saiga 12 and 20ga shotguns, the Yugo M59/66,
Springfield SAR-48, M2 Carbine, and the Colt Model 733
