Talk:Dead Man's Tale (Chto skazal pokoynik)
This looks to have an external extractor like a Star Model B.
Was there any good look at the other ones or were they just the same prop reused? Black Irish Paddy (talk) 08:51, 10 October 2020 (EDT)
- Thanks! I missed the extractor... my poor eyesight and an old, worn-out monitor :( This is the only good view of the pistol. Here are some more images but they aren't good:
The henchman's pistol is another prop as he is seen firing two pistols while Bearded holds his gun. But the henchman's gun is seen too briefly and only from the left side. So I'll call the henchman's pistol "1911-style, possibly Star", for caution. --Greg-Z (talk) 09:09, 10 October 2020 (EDT)
I think that all M16s are most likely of the same model, and something tells me that these are probably some civilian versions, since it is unlikely that any military rifles younger than M16A1 will appear in Russian films. Shooting, as in most other Soviet/Russian films, is absent, since no one will spoil expensive weapons by converting them into blanks and (as expected) shooting with conventional cartridges is not always possible. --Slon95 (talk) 13:31, 4 December 2020 (EST)
