The first revolver may be a Garate revolver, a Spanish copy of the Smith & Wesson .44 Double Action. It looks like it was mocked up as a gate loading revolver. The second one may be a Colt Pocket Positive? Or a Spanish copy? --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:57, 16 July 2015 (EDT)

I had the idea about Garate but the side-mounted ejector rod turned me into confusion. Maybe it's really mocked up though I cannot understand the reason as the movie makers had a lot of SAA revolvers. The Pocket Positive seems a good guess, thanks. I'll look for European clone of this revolver. Greg-Z (talk) 10:01, 16 July 2015 (EDT)
The only reason I can think of is that perhaps the actor couldn't fire quickly enough on a single action revolver? --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:12, 16 July 2015 (EDT)
This revolver fires only once and not close - Milian is seen from back when he fires, there is a sound, a smoke, and a bad guy falls dead. So maybe your guess is right. Maybe not. Who knows?... Greg-Z (talk) 10:54, 16 July 2015 (EDT)

The cylinder release is seen here a little better. I wonder if it's a Colt at all? Also the front side of the frame looks nearly vertical, different from typical sloped front side of frames of Colt revolvers. I had a guess about a Colt New Pocket that seems to match in size but it also has different shape of the frame. Greg-Z (talk) 15:37, 16 July 2015 (EDT)

The top break seems like a very bad screw up by someone who watched too many movies and forgot the S&W top breaks were in the wild west too. As for the pocket pistol it's either a Colt New Pocket or a Spanish copy, the New Pocket had a more vertical front end of the frame than the later Pocket Positive. Plus making the frame fully vertical would cut down the cost of manufacture which Spanish gun makers always tended to do. Black Irish Paddy (talk) 22:26, 22 April 2019 (EDT)

Shotgun is another variant, probably the M1200. --Slon95 (talk) 17:55, 30 January 2020 (EST)

Thanks, fixed. --Greg-Z (talk) 09:03, 31 January 2020 (EST)
It can also be the rare Model 1912 Featherweight (which apparently was the basis for the subsequent M1200). --Slon95 (talk) 20:41, 29 October 2020 (EDT)
Thanks, I added this version. --Greg-Z (talk) 01:25, 30 October 2020 (EDT)

Maxim Mock-up theory

I think that Mocked-up Maxim gun that Peterson uses in the finale was made using a sub-machine gun (Star Z45 perhaps?) as a base.

Note that protrusion at the bottom of the gun, just before the water jacket. That looks a lot like a sub-machine gun's magazine to me. (Which means that side-mounted handle may be in reality a lever linked to the trigger of the gun inside the Maxim shell.) 50AEDeagle (talk) 5:54 PM, 22 April 2019 (EDT)

Thanks a lot for an interesting idea! It's very possible, I'll add this version on page. Greg-Z (talk) 00:21, 24 April 2019 (EDT)
Not a problem! One other note: The Maxim gun Mongo's men use to attempt to break the safe doors at the beginning is the same mock-up Peterson uses in the finale. (If you look carefully, the guerrilla firing the gun is operating it the same way Peterson does later on.)50AEDeagle (talk) 5:23 PM, 24 April 2019 (EDT)
