Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler (Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler) is a 1922 German thriller directed by Fritz Lang and starring Rudolf Klein-Rogge as Dr. Mabuse, a criminal mastermind who uses his hypnotic powers to commit crimes. This is the first film in the Dr. Mabuse series.
The following weapons were used in the film Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler:
The Frommer Stop pistol is the personal sidearm of state prosecutor Norbert von Wenk (Bernhard Goetzke). It is later seen in the hands of the head of police.
Police officers use short-barreled revolvers during the attack on the house. Their cylinders, barrel size, and rods are indicate they are Harrington & Richardson Young America revolvers.
Nagant M1895
Hawasch (Károly Huszár) and Georg (Hans Adalbert von Schlettow) both have revolvers. Despite being hardly seen, their grips, cylinders, and hammers indicate they are Nagant M1895 revolvers. State prosecutor von Wenk (Bernhard Goetzke) is also seen using one.
Rifles
Gewehr 1871
The Mauser Gewehr 1871 is the most utilized weapon in the film. The German soldiers use Mauser Gewehr 1871 rifles (both full length and carbine versions) during the attack on the house. Hawasch (Karoly Huszar), Dr. Mabuse (Rudolf Klein-Rogge), Fine (Grete Berger), and Spoerri (Robert Forster-Larrinaga) all use carbines versions of the same rifle during the shootout. One full length rifle is also used fired from a house by an unknown shooter.
Explosives
Fake Stielhandgranate
The assault troops and state prosecutor von Wenk (Bernhard Goetzke) use fake hand grenades resembling various German-made stick grenades in an attempt to break the door of the house.
Note: real explosions are seen, but they were caused by other grenades.
No. 15 Hand Grenade "Ball"
During the assault, real explosions tear down the door of the house. Upon closer inspection, some round grenades are seen. They are, most likely, British No. 15 Hand Grenade "Ball" grenades as they have fuses and a similar shape.
Hidden Bomb
Pesch (Georg John) and Spoerri (Robert Forster Larinaga) are seen hiding a bomb inside a toolbox.
TRIVIA: In order to detonate the bomb, Pesch throws the toolbox inside a room (hardly hitting it against the floor).
