J. Edgar
|
J. Edgar is the 2011 biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the title character. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film follows Hoover as he rises to power as the first Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The following weapons were used in the film J. Edgar:
Handguns
Colt Official Police
Police officers are seen with Colt Official Police revolvers during a raid on a suspected Communist hideout.
Colt Pocket Positive
J. Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio) is seen carrying what appears to be a nickel-plated Colt Pocket Positive during a raid in 1919. He is later seen holding the revolver during many arrests including the arrest of the kidnapper of the Lindbergh baby. The Colt revolver appears to be the one that Hoover owned and is now the property of the F.B.I. Though the production had the assistance of the F.B.I. in making the movie it is plausible that the Pocket Positive that appears in the film is one that has been remodeled. Colt New Service
Hoover is seen handing out Colt New Service revolvers to his agents during a raid in 1919.
Rifles
Springfield M1903
A communist sniper appears to use a Springfield M1903 rifle to open fire on a World War I veterans' parade.
Shotguns
Winchester Model 1912
A Winchester Model 1912 is seen in the hands of a federal agent during a confrontation with bank robbers in Kansas.
Submachine Guns
Thompson M1928
The Thompson M1928 is first seen in a display. Bank robbers in Kansas are seen using Thompsons during a confrontation with agents in Kansas.
